Overseas Training In 1995, I was chosen and sent under IELP by the FULBRIGHT COMMISSION in Cairo to the United States for a two-month Teacher Training Initiative at Georgia State University, Atlanta, State of Georgia where; 1: I was introduced to The latest trends of EFL/ESL Communicative Methodology by the Head of TESOL International Dr. Mary Lou Macklosky - a well- known TEFL specialist - . 2: Dr. Linda Grant supervised my presentation entitled: "A Timeless Tale of Treachery." 3: At the computer lab of Georgia State University, I was first introduced to the magic world of computers and the Internet and that was when I bought my first Laptop.

4: After I returned, I stopped being a TALK & CHALK teacher. I incorporated the use of computers in my teaching. My school has an INTERNET ROOM where an LCD connected to a Mac Power PC, a 233 Pentium, a T.V and a VCR can be found. I started making good use of these facilities to enhance the way I present my lessons using: Microsoft Office, Microsoft 3D Movie Maker, Multimedia, Print Artist 2.5, Grammar ROM, Sound Forge etc In 1997, I was chosen and sent again by the FULBRIGHT COMMISSION in Cairo to Salzburg, Austria to represent Egypt at Salzburg Seminar entitled: "Internet: networking, research and American popular culture." That seminar was a turning point in my career because I was introduced to some of the most effective techniques of using and implementing computers in an EFL classroom. I strategize with Dr. Chao-Meng Chen, the associate professor of English at the National Chengchi University and the National Taiwan University of Technology and Science. It was my first time to create a home page on the World Wide Web. We cooperated together create a Web page for our project entitled: "Bringing it all back home in an EFL class." I was trained on the different educational uses of the INTERNET and computers in an efl/esl class. I received intensive training on using ESL/EFL tools used for generating lessons, presentations, webPages, offline and online quizzes, virtual classroom, distance learning and video conferencing. In 2002, I was chosen again to participate in Georgia State University international supervision program for senior teachers in Atlanta, State of Georgia, USA. The program involved intensive training on supervision and class observation of teachers a senior teacher supervises. I was trained on the latest techniques and trends of this ESL / EFL area of study.

Conferences In 1997, I was chosen by Dr. Margo Abd El-Aziz EFL Program Specialist (US Embassy)- to give a presentation at the First Regional Conference of Returned Participants which was held in Alex. My presentation was entitled: Bringing it all back home in an EFL Novel class." I tackled how a teacher can present a chapter in a novel in an interactive and communicative way. I was also chosen IELP-II office to give a demonstration in 1st Cairo Conference in 1999. The title of my presentation was; " Paul Anka in an EFL Class." I presented how a teacher can integrate the four different skills through a listening task (a famous American song). My paper entitled HELLO Offline was accepted. I demonstrated how teachers can design interactive, communicative HTML self-study tests offline for their secondary stage students. In 2003, my paper to the IELP-II 5th Cairo Conference was accepted. I presented a paper entitled; Reflective Teaching; theory and practice in a display booth. In 2003, my paper to the IIE and IELP-II 2nd International Tecnology Syposium was accepted. My paper was entitled; Developing offline ESL/EFL interactive webpages I attended HCT 5th Annual English Language Teaching In Schools Conference 2007 Beyond Boundaries: Extending Excellence. I attended the 2007 2nd AUS TESOL Symposium entitled Improving Teaching Practices: Professional Development in ELT AT THE American University in Sharjah. As a member, I attended its annual 2007 convention in Dubai to get an idea about the latest trends in ESL/EFL. IAT financed attending TESOL ARABIA annual convention in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. My proposed presentation entitled iPad 2 iPad was accepted by the academic board of TESOL Arabia to be presented in this upcoming 2013 annual convention.

International EFL Organizations During the last 13 years, I have been affiliated with many of the major EFL Institutes all over the world such as; TESOL TESOL ARABIA IELP IELP-II Amideast AED IIE USAID AUC Bi-National Fulbright Commission Salzburg Seminar Georgia State University HCT/CERT British Council Programs In 1998, I was chosen by IELP-II as a trainer in the Basic English Language Improvement Course (BELI) designed for English teachers all over the country. I trained primary, preparatory and secondary English teachers all over my governorate on the latest trends of Communicative Methodology. I was chosen by IELP-II office to design a module for the Communicative Skills and Methodology course (CSM) entitled: "Teaching Novel in an EFL Class." This module is now being taught all over the country to preparatory and secondary English teachers. In 1999, I was chosen by IELP-II Technology Office in Cairo to give two presentations entitled: "Computers in an EFL Class" to English teachers all over the country via Video-Conferencing. I also worked as an English supervisor. I supervised 14 nonspecialist English teachers a year. I demonstrated model lessons and helped them with their pronunciation problems. Personal Statement have a firm belief that navigating this millennium will depend mainly on iPads and mobile devices that's why I am highly interested in incorporating the use of computer as an effective and a motivating teaching aid inside my EFL classes. A computer enables me to: Integrate iPads to conduct one-to-one teaching . incorporate the Internet as an integral part of my teaching methodologies. Create lively and brightly-colored flash cards. Prepare presentations for all my lessons. Give presentations (via Data-Show) Using Nearpod. . Create electronic books using iBooks Author. Create interactive online quizzes, exercises and tests using online platforms such as PLATO, Edmodo and Moodle. Create an electronic library of all the ex mentioned items to be used over and over again. Use different and suitable Multimedia programs. Use online stories. Use the Grammar Rom.
