What Is Ego Really?

Most people think of the word Ego and think that it means your "arrogant" or you think that you are "better than others". Is that truly the definition of Ego? Is that the only example of Ego? Absolutely not. Ego is an in isible shield planted around yourself to prote!t yourself from the outside world. Ego shows up in all sorts of ways.

Ego is being "shy" and not wanting to talk to people. Ego is fear of what others might think of you. Ego is self !riti!al and refuses to a!!ept !ompliments. Ego is a la!k of trust for people be!ause your trust has been iolated. Ego is li ing inside of a !omfort "one# be!ause you are afraid of failing. Ego is thinking that e erything you do is perfe!t or stri ing for perfe!tion. Ego is taking the !redit when it doesn$t belong to you or not liking it when someone else gets !redit. Ego is gi ing up on the persisten!e %od implanted in you. Ego is being !losed minded. Ego is not allowing yourself to learn and grow for fear of the responsibility that !omes with that. Ego is not forgi ing be!ause you feel &ustified in your anger. Ego !hooses to take offense to what others say or do. Ego is self righteous and !riti!al. Ego is false humility. Ego is oppression and not wanting to mo e past the past. Ego is ha ing to be in !ontrol of e erything. Ego is thinking nobody !an do it better than you. Ego is an inability to admit you need help. 'he Ego needs to "keep up with the (ones". Ego needs to appear like e erything is perfe!t when it isn$t. Ego is a i!tim. Ego is pride. 'his is only a few examples of Ego. We all !omfortably wear our Ego. We &ust need to make the !hoi!e daily to take the in isible shield off and be the true person %od intended for us to be. )e is in !ontrol# he knows our path# he is ready to take on A** road bumps in our path. If we hand o er !omplete !ontrol to %od and not try to li e it alone# our Ego will safely be left outside the doorway of our life. In short# Ego is Edging %od +ut.
