OTLk.n multiplexes OTUk signals onto n lanes. Each lane is transmitted via one lambda on a single fiber or an individual fiber.

OPU Overhead
The OPU OH regulates the mapping and concatenation of the client signals and provides information on the type of signal transported. Payload structure identifier (PSI): a 256 byte multiframe signal. The PSI[0] contains payload type (PT) information. Mapping and concatenation: PSI[1] to PSI[255] are mapping and concatenation-specific.
