Kimberlin Academy Campus Improvement Team Meeting Agenda January 15, 2014

I. II. III. Welcome Introductions Campus Update a. Principal i. Tyisha talked about several areas that were not being addressed on the CNA: 1. Technology Integration a. Kinder, 1st and specials need training on Airserver. 2. Training outside of school a. Empowering Writers training attended. b. Debbie Diller Feb 6 and 7 for Math. Also going to look into her ELA trainings. 3. Vertical teams disaggregating data for curriculum, instruction and assessment. a. Parent commented that Kinder receives lots of data but doesnt feel like as much comes home from 3rd grade. b. Parent commented that she feels she receives information from 2nd grade to get a good picture of her sons learning. c. Justi commented that we all know how to do it but shes not sure that we all put it into action. d. Rachel feels like Kinder has really stepped up this year as far as what is recorded and what goes home. e. Lametha commented that 3rd grade might just need to send things home more often. f. Tyishas thinks we need more antidotal notes to address where students are and use the information in small

groups. This will also aide in providing more depth and complexity to tutoring and intervention groups. 4. Providing intervention for those who are at risk or on the bubble for reaching commended levels. a. Dario a few of the things that works well in his class are small groups and having the students pair up, one below level and one above level. b. Lametha uses small groups during instruction. c. Justi the Homework Connection class during Explorer time will begin to help some of those students. d. Andrea Homework Connection has a teacher from primary and intermediate in the room to help students complete work and receive more one on one instruction. 5. Positive Behavior Support Plan a. The meeting still needs to be rescheduled, best day might be Thursdays. 6. College and Career Readiness a. Having 4th and 5th grade students visit a local college. b. Tyisha will send out an email asking for volunteers to help with the endeavor. b. Grade level/Team Representatives i. Specials Marcie would like to see more PE time. Tyisha commented with our current schedule theres not enough time in our schedule at this time. ii. Littrell everyone in kindergarten was above MOY cutscore! Usually in Rachels class very few students make it out of the testing section of Star Math. After having the math PLC she developed her word wall and for the first time 19 of 20 students are out of the testing phase! Many of the students commented on the words during the test saying theyd seen them on their word wall! iii. Harris A SPED student, first year in inclusion went up 200 points from BOY to MOY testing in Star Math. c. District/Parent/Community Representatives IV. Power Hour/TPSP

a. At the end of the year we are going to have a TPSP and Think Tank night for parents to come out and see what goes on during power hour. V. Staff Development February 24, 2014 a. Majority of the day will be used on vertical PLCs VI. 5th Grade Camp a. Looking at going and touring other facilities for camp. Main reasons due to location of Camp Goddard, safety and cost. VII. VIII. IX. CIT Meeting Dates (Feb. 12, April 16, May 28) Other Business Adjourn
