Chapter 1 All about the Civil War

How it started: The Civil War started between 4:00 and 5:00 in the morning on April 12, 1861. The Northern states started it because the northern states had factories and the southern states had slaves work on farms like cotton farms, tobacco farms, and plantation farms. Do you know how the slaves were treated? They were treated very badly. The battles of the civil war: The battle of Fort Sumter started on April 12, 1861. Fort Sumter was near Charleston, South Carolina. The bombardment surrendered Fort Sumter. Thats how the Civil War started. The battle of Antietam was fought on September 17, 1862 near Sharpsburg, Maryland. Antietam creek was part of the dry land campaign. It was the first major battle in the American Civil War.

All about slavery: Slavery is a system under which people are treated. They were forced to work.

Who won: After all, the northern states won the Civil War.

Chapter 2 Underground Railroad What was the Underground Railroad used for: The Underground Railroad was a network of secret routes. The Underground Railroad was for slaves to run away from slavery. Harriet Tubman made a total of 19 trips back down south and she never lost one of her 300 slaves she saved. Slaves used the Underground Railroad: Slaves used the Underground Railroad to escape from slavery. The slaves would just run. They would never stop running. Slaves used the Underground Railroad to escape to Free states

Chapter 3 Harriet Tubman Early life: Harriet Tubman was born in 1820, in Dorchester County, Maryland. Harriet Tubmans nicknames were Minty and Moses. She had one child his name was Gertie Davies. Her parents were Harriet Greene and Ben Ross. She died on March 10, 1913 in Auburn New York from Pneumonia. Pneumonia is a lung inflammation caused by bacterial or viral infection. Harriet Tubman parents were going to sell her to the south. Harriet led here parents to freedom in 1857. What did Harriet Tubman do during the civil war: Harriet Tubman helped slaves escape from slavery. She was also the conductor of the Underground Railroad. The conductor of the Underground Railroad meant that she led people to freedom.

Chapter 4 The Civil War Was Important The civil war was important. One reason the civil war was important was because of slavery. Another reason was the Underground Railroad was an important part of the Civil War. Also there were a lot of important people of the Civil War. The civil war was important because of slavery. One reason is that black people could not go any were they wanted. They could go outside and inside their house. Another reason slavery was important the blacks were forced to work. Also slaves had to work on plantation farms. The Underground Railroad was an important part of the Civil War. One reason is that Harriet Tubman was the conductor of the Underground Railroad. Another example were the routes for slaves to take to get freedom. Also the Underground Railroad was a network of secret routes. The Civil War was important because of important people. One person was Harriet Tubman who led slaves to freedom. Another person was John Brown who helped slaves and gave slaves artillery.

Also, Abraham Lincoln made the Emancipation Proclamation. Thats why the civil war is important because of slavery, the Underground Railroad, and the important people. One reason why slavery was important because people were not being treated right. Another reason why the Underground Railroad was important because it helped slaves escape from slavery. My last reason why the civil war was important because of John Brown gave slaves artillery.

Pneumonia: Is a lung inflammation caused by bacterial or viral infection. Territory: Area owned by the government of under the rule of the government. Industry: Working hard. Weapons: A thing designed or used for unflank. Slave: A person who is owned by someone.
