Pre-Internship Field Experience 2013 Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI Writing 1004 I participated as a pre-service teacher in a pre-college writing classroom. The majority of the students are nonnative English speakers, and Ive learned how to structure a classroom around English language learners, plan and teach lessons, scaffold, model, and include students identities in my teaching practices. Sexton High School, Lansing MI I was a classroom tutor in an ESL history classroom and resource English class. I often taught lessons in the English class, and helped complete reading activities with the classroom. Eastern High School, Lansing MI Tutored international students and ESL students. I learned about the challenges and rewards of teaching ESL students.

Everett High School, Lansing MI English tutor, helped organize and run the after school mentoring program. I learned that the individual strengths and weaknesses of a students academic life dont define the individual student.

Other Work Experience: 2010-Present

I have worked in the South Complex Dining Services on Michigan State Universitys campus as a student supervisor, where I have learned leadership, decision making and organizational skills. I also have the responsibility of teaching all new employees and current employees their roles in the cafeteria. Furthermore, I am responsible for ensuring every customer has an outstanding experience, and frequently must use communication skills to ensure that customers, managers, employees and students are comfortable, informed and enjoy their experience.

Club Experience 2012-Present In 2012, I helped found the Michigan State University Spanish Club as a board member and chair of community outreach. I helped organize events in the community, on campus, and connect native Spanish speakers and learners in a fun environment.
