In todays society monsters are most commonly characterized as scary figures in horror movies, but after further thought

I have come to the realization that figures in politics can actually be symbolized as monsters. For instance, othering is the process of distinguishing differences and keeping distance between two things. In politics, a perfect example of othering is portrayed through the Democratic and Republican parties relationship. I believe that othering exist in the world today because unfortunately, our country wont evolve and face diversity. Monsters want socialization as politicians want popularity. Although I disagree on both sides, there are people that make a living publicizing negative and untrue statements about presidents, governors, representatives, etc. In my eyes, the writers are monsters because they are creating false information to make society even more divided. For instance, there has been a letter circulating the internet making people actually believe that a struggling, single mother that claims she can barely keep a mediocre job wrote such a scholarly letter to the president. Also our countrys history has gone through monstrous times considering the topic of segregation. Those who wouldnt allow people of African American decent or any other race than white were and still are monsters. I honestly believe this because they othered another race for no logical reason, although there is no reason for such behavior at all. In this time period, colored individuals were depicted as inferior and could only use certain facilities and none that whites used. This action was and will always be absurd, blacks lived in fear of their life and felt belittled which is exactly what a monster is. Inappropriately, politicians dont put the countrys interests before their own opinions as they make or break peoples lives.

Social issues cause monstrous acts from citizens, representatives, protesters, etc. to morality and superiority. Modern societal issues regarding same sex marriage and abortion cause some of the most hurtful words and opinions. For instance, heterosexual persons protest and go

above and beyond to make sure others arent able to be married to who they chose, however, if the roles were reversed, the protesters would claim it isnt fair. The same is for anti-abortionists, if their lives were in danger during pregnancy, they would be fighting for it instead of against it. Those who jump to conclusions and dont allow others to speak their arguments and reasons become monsters that only look down a one way street in what comes to be all situations. Additionally, I believe some religion depths cause monstrosity among people in not accepting others and how they might view certain situations. Just people an individual was brought up in a particular setting of beliefs, doesnt mean they are right or wrong, but they should respect others as long as no danger is involved.

In my opinion, the two political parties within themselves are a form of monsters because they are constantly jabbing at one another to make themselves and only themselves appear to be right when in reality no one is wrong, there are just two ways of looking at things. However, the people and advocacy groups that promote the parties promote the more competition in a negative way bringing out true colors in people. For instance, skimming through news feeds on Facebook and other social media sites can instantly show what someones beliefs are and unfortunately they share articles to publically bash a political figure. Personally, I didnt have much use for our previous president, George W. Bush, but I would never speak such harmful and disrespectful words about him, because regardless of my opinion, he won the election and he was our countrys leader which should gain respect. To even run for president there are such high standards, qualifications and obstacles to face that can only be overcome by highly intelligent and qualified candidates; therefore, no president should ever be called stupid or dumb or any derogatory word relating. Someone has the right to disagree, but those who publically enjoy putting down someone else is a monster and shows they are not any better as an individual.
