MONEY WELL SPENT

RESEARCH
The Better Business Bureau has standards that Non-Profit Organizations have to meet. These standards include that the organization must spend a certain percentage of their revenue for the year on specified things, such as research and prevention, and not spending more than a certain percentage of the revenue for the year on expenses.

Red Cross, etc. Though a lot of organizations meet the standards, some organizations like the VH1 Save the Music Foundation and the Make a Wish Foundation do not meet all standards laid out by the BBB.

ABOUT ME..
I am 18 years old. I am planning on attending SCF for the next two years and then transferring to USF for their pharmacy program. I am very involved in the Key Club at Braden River High School. I am the Assistant Secretary of the Key Club at Braden River High School. Key Club is very involved in Relay for Life so that is what motivated me to choose the topic that I chose.

RELAY FOR LIFE

For my volunteering aspect of this project, I had the opportunity to be the captain of Key Clubs Relay for Life team this year. To prepare for this event we had weekly planning meetings. At these meetings I would plan our fundraisers and we would plan for the day itself. Along with fundraising over $2000 for this event beforehand, we had onsite fundraisers planned as well such as a bake sale and face painting. Being so involved with this event and the American Cancer Society for multiple years is what made me curious to research where all of the money we were raising actually went and I was glad to find out that this organization lives up to the expectations.

I have found that a lot of organizations do meet the standards such as the American Cancer Society, YMCA, American
