Stage 1-Before
independence
• Spanish people had power
over the indigenous
people,blacks, Mestizos, and
Criollos.
Stage 2- Planning
• Miguel hidalgo
rebelled against the
Spanish with the
blacks, indigenous,
Mestizos, and
Criollos
Stage 3- Grito de Dolores
• Hidalgo led a large
army to Mexico city,
but was captured
and killed the next
year.
Stage 4- Mexican
independence
• After hidalgo was
killed others
followed and won
the independence
for Mexico.
Mexican-American war 1
• The U.S tricked
Mexico into going to
war.
Mexican-American war 2
• Because Mexico
lacked supplies, the
U.S won.
Mexican-American war 3
• The U.S paid
Mexico $15 million
for 6 states.
