The Joint Foreign Chambers of the Philippines Meets with Department of Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez

DOT SECRETARY MEETS WITH JFC EXECUTIVES. Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez (sixth from the left) together with Undersecretary Danilo Corpus (far right) met with executives of the Joint Foreign Chambers to discuss targets and policies of the DOT to support tourism growth. Discussion centered on reforms to rapidly improve airport capacity, to ease entry and exit of visitors, to reduce taxes and fees on travelers that hinder international connectivity, to develop cruise tourism, and to increase medical tourism and retirement of foreigners in the country. The JFC commended the CAAP for its achievements in removing the US FAA and the EU restrictions on the Philippine aviation as well as the TIEZA and the BIR for finalization of revenue regulations to support new investment in tourism zones.
