The puzzle games task requires assembling pictures starting with pieces that are spread over the table surface. In the CPG, digital pieces can be dragged over the surface by direct nger touch and the game/actions is enriched with visual and auditory feedback. It features a set of interaction rules called Enforced Collaboration (EC): in order to be moved from their original position, puzzle pieces must be touched and dragged simultaneously by the two players. We hypothesized that EC can represent an interaction paradigm that would help foster collaboration between children. To prepare for this activity: Teacher will need to teach each student how to properly use the Smart Table. Set rules and guidelines for the Smart Table, also having consequences if rules are broken. Rules should be reinforced and repeated to the students. After rules repeated, lesson will need to be explained to the students. Prepare students with explaining the interactive activities and modeling how to properly do the activity. Once students understand, divide students into groups. Four to eight students per group. Place each group at Smart Table and begin activity. Depending on class size: Smart Tables are needed for Interactive Collaborative Activity. Name Tags can be used for each student if needed Group Name Tags can be used for each group if needed. SMART Table 442i collaborative learning center combines learning and play to inspire center-based learning and active collaboration. Inclusive and accessible, the SMART Table engages preK3 learners, including students with special needs, in active discussions, problem-solving and small group collaboration activities. Its durable design makes it ideal for active classrooms and its stable pedestal-base enables wheel chair access.SMART Table supports up to 40 simultaneous touches, enabling eight students to collaborate on lessons at the same time. It also supports simple, intuitive gestures like rotate, toss and zoom. This activity will take place for the students with ASD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and other students placed in the classroom. The activity is benecial to all students, creating skills of collaboration, socialization, and muscle usage. Students will be placed in groups and set at a Smart Table. Groups will choose a Puzzle Game and begin collaborating together to complete the puzzle. The puzzle games incorporates the students to work together, socialize, and use critical thinking. The use of technology in the classroom creates exciting new activities for each student. This assignment will be about an hour activity, which gives each student time to truly focus on the puzzle. The assignment focus on shapes and nding matches to each shape, The students learn different ways to put the shapes together, and learn how to work together as groups. Each game incorporates new shapes and environments for the students to discover. Also counting becomes incorporated into each game. Students learn to count shapes, which increases knowlegde of numbers. To be determined after activity. ***Notes for after Lesson
