Dear Parents/Guardians:
It is with great excitement that I will begin my student teaching experience
in your childs classroom from February 10
th
- May 8
th
, 2014. I am looking forward to
becoming a part of Ms. Fischers classroom and working with your child on their
educational journey.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to those of you I
have not yet had the pleasure of meeting, I am currently attending Northern State
University and will complete my bachelors in Music Education and Musical Theatre.
I am originally from a dairy farm on the outskirts of Lanesboro, MN. I came to
Northern because of their outstanding music program and I was able to compete in
basketball and track and field.
I chose to become a teacher my passion is making music with students who
love music as much as I do. I believe music is a very important component of the
teaching curriculum because not only is music a universal language. But, through
exploring music, students can find natural connections to social studies,
mathematic, science, reading, writing, visual and other performing arts. Music
provides a way for them to express themselves in a unique way, which motivates
their learning and helps build their self-confidence. Teaching is a joy, and I hope
you see that modeled in my words and actions.
Please feel free to contact me through the school office or through my email;
yvonne.freese@wolves.northern.edu. I am looking forward to these next 12 weeks
and getting to make music with your child.
Sincerely,
Yvonne Freese
Student Teacher
Music gives a soul to the universe,
wings to the mind, flight to the imagination
and life in everything.
