Bridges between Chiinu, London and Washington

A bridge is a structure made up of wood, metal or stone that unites two sides. It
is a connection. This was the literal meaning. But we use the word ,,bridge
when referring to connections between 2 or more countries: political,
economical, cultural and maybe social.
In our case there are bridges between Chisinau, London and Washington-
three countries in which English is spoken. In Chisinau there is the Embassy of
the USA and the embassy of the UK. The same with our embassy in London and
Washington. The UK and USA embassies in Chisinau organize a lot of events
like seminars for English speakers, for business men and teachers and exchange
programs for students, MA students, PhD (doctoral students). These programs
allow students to learn in such universities like Oxford, Harvard, Cambridge,
Massachusetts, California, etc.
In our university there is ERTC (English Resource Training Centre) were
seminars are organized and a lot of useful materials can be find, all of them are
supplied by UK embassy. Each year at our university we organize
,,Thanksgiving day when we try to implement american traditions.
Work and travel programs- these programs allow students to work and to
travel in USA and UK. There they see another life with other standards, they
meet new people and establish friendships for all their lives.
USA and UK give our country material support when we needed it the
most and they helped us with the implementation of the reforms in all areas.
They also offer trainings and exchange programs for our soldiers.
But what is the most important these embassies organize different cultural
events like: concerts of different kind of music and film festivals.
