My mission:

Why do I want to be a teacher? The answer is pretty simple, my grandmother was a teacher,
and my mother was a teacher, and I want to follow in their footsteps. I want to make a
difference in the lives of my students; I want to see them succeed in the classroom by teaching
them to the best of my abilities. That is my mission in life to be the best teacher that I can be.

Philosophy of Teaching:
I believe that every child is capable of learning, it is up to that childs teacher to make a
difference in the life of a child, and open the doors of education in their classroom.

Classroom Experience:
I have been working in the Public School System since 1999, for fifteen years, I was working at
Garapan Elementary School as a Special Education Teacher Assistant. In the year 2003 to 2004, I
wanted to try something new and work with younger students. I was working in the HeadStart
Program as a Teacher Assistant. It was a great learning experience for me when I was working
with seventeen to twenty three to five year olds. They taught me so much about myself and my
teaching abilities. After a year in Headstart, my heart belonged in Garapan so I went back and I
have been there ever since. I do not have any pictures of activites that I organized / instructed
in the classroom, my role is to assist my student to reach their IEP goals in the classroom. I do
not have any pictures of bulletin boards that I have created. I have one sample lesson plan from
my Ed 211 Intro to teaching class. It is my Storysharing lesson plan, I do plan to add my lesson
plans to my portfolio once I start taking my methods courses. Since I work in the Special
Education program, I do not have work samples that I planned and instructed. I just follow the
IEP goals that my student needs to accomplish. Once I start my student teaching, I will make
sure that I add some student work samples to my portfolio. I will also add an overall lesson plan
template to my portfolio as well. I do not have a Field trip Plan too, my teacher that I work with
in the classroom is the one that sets up the field trips, I will make it a point to add it to my
portfolio right away. I do not have a classroom learning environment sample, but I know what
has to be included in one. I will add it to my portfolio as soon as I begin student teaching.

Achievements/Awards:
My Associate in Arts Liberal Arts degree from NMC, it is required for working in the
Public School System. Not done yet! My goal is to graduate with my Bachelor of Science

dream of becoming a teacher in the classroom.

in Headstart. Helps me for future career as classroom teacher.

2007. I am honored to receive them, because I love my job and really enjoy
working with my team at GES and my students in the classroom.

Programs I was involved in:
Since I am a full time student at NMC, I dont really have extra time for any programs, I go
straight to class after work, once I graduate from NMC, I will make it a point to be involved in
the programs that my school will offer.

Certificates:
I have a lot of certificates from the professional development workshops that I have attended

only able to find a few of them, but I have been attending every Professional development
