Lahul - Spiti Kannaur part is like a picture postcard.
Places like Losar, Kaza,
Keyh Kibber, Kaza, Tabo, Nako, Sangla, Kalpa Narkanda are just beautiful. But th e main thing is the journey and the landscapes weve seen during the journey is un forgettable. I will definitely go once again this time, as expected we couldnt en joy the Kinnaur and it worth another visit. Vashishth and Old Manali are nice places to sack out - not particularly a family destination in my opinion. Some places I'd suggest : * From Shimla, you can go up to Sangla and see places on the way. * Tirthan Valley * Parvati Valley * Spiti Definitely avoid Dalhousie (Dull and Lousy) and Khajiar. Spiti itinery - perfect g1 DAY 01: Arrival in Delhi DAY 02: Delhi to Shimla (1900 m): Train: 10 hrs. DAY 03 : Visit Shimla. DAY 04: Shimla to Sarahan (1920 m): Drive: 190 km DAY 05: Saraha n to Sangla (3450 m), via Chitkul: Drive: 140 km Festival of Fulaich takes place here. Having said that, though, the Shimla-Sarahan journey isn't so bad. The sc enery is fantastic, and the bus makes several stops for food en route. There is a daily direct bus but it should be avoided, as it makes several detours to mino r villages and waits in Rampur for an hour or more; better to get one of the man y buses going to Rekong Peo and get off at Jeori, from where it's easy to get a taxi or another bus up to Sarahan.
