Art Director
For my future career, I chose to become an Art Director. I have always wanted to have a
career in this field because creating what I love the most. I have always had a passion for arts
ever since I was a child. I know that I would be fully successful as an art director. Being an art
director means I have hands on work to ultimately create an overall look of a particular product. I
honestly feel like I have the skills and personality that is needed for this career. Being an art
director means being responsible for the overall look of films, T.V. shows, and other
multimedia products.
Being an artist and being able to create has always been my number one passion.
Although my favorite medium is painting with acrylics, Im experienced in all different kinds of
art. I really love to learn and expand my artistic abilities. To be successful in this career, you
have to be willing to move. I would love to move to a larger, urban environment. The fact is that
there is almost no opportunity to succeed in this career in small towns.
Being an art director is not an easy career. I have heard and read about the stress and
pressure art directors have because of having to meet deadlines. To become an art director, you
need to have at least a bachelors degree in Arts, Including Design and Visual Communications,
Commercial and Advertising Arts, Art/Art Studies General. Art directors usually work a standard
40 hour week, but almost always have overtime in order to meet certain deadlines. Edinboro
University offers most of these and with cheaper costs than most local colleges. With this career,

I could make around $56,000 annually. Ideally, this would be my lifelong career, eventually
earning me $103,000 annually.
In conclusion, I believe this is the perfect career for me. I have skills that are necessary
for being a great art director, such as being creative and able to think visually. I know my
knowledge and passion or arts will help me be successful in this career. Because I would be
doing what I love doing the most, I know I would love my job. I have a passion for art of any
way, shape, or form. This my ideal career and I cannot wait to start my journey as a qualified art
director.
