An effective method for goal setting is to create a mind map.
1. Write your main goal in the center of a piece of paper and circle it. 2. Think of the necessary steps needed to accomplish this goal. Write the steps around your main circle/goal. Circle these steps and then draw a line from your main goal to each of these steps. 3. Think of the tasks necessary to accomplish the steps. Write those in circles that surround each step. Remember that accomplishing these tasks is the key factor in accomplishing your goal. 4. Consider the inter-relationship of all the circles. 5. Assign a start and completion date to each circle.
