Analysis of Global Perspectives into Early Mental Wellness: A Comparison of New South Wales and
Ontario

!56!373!/5
My name is Katie Latosik and I am a student in my graduating year in Charles Sturt Universitys
Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies program, located in Burlington.

One course delivered this semester, Leadership in Early Childhood Education, asks that students
design and carry out a small, focused leadership project that makes a contribution to the early
childhood community. I have chosen to investigate practices and perceptions into early mental health in
Canada and in Australia, and I invite you to share your thoughts and perspectives.

You will receive a short demographic questionnaire via email to provide context to your professional
background and the setting in which you currently work. At a predetermined time, you and a small
group of adults will then partake in a semi-structured interview, comprised of questions that have been
assembled through the collaboration of the interviewer, ROCK personnel, Charles Sturt University
personnel, and practitioners within Australia. At a later date, practitioners in Australia will partake in
this same process.

This process will involve written records and audiotape discussion. Information gathered through this
initiative will be analyzed, compared and contrasted. Results will be shared with practitioners and
professional bodies within the Ontario and New South Wales communities. Presentation of findings at
conferences and publication may occur in the future.

A time commitment of approximately 15 minutes per demographic questionnaire and 60 minutes
during the group interview is anticipated.

and you are free to pull out of the discussion at any stage. There is no perceived risk to participants.
Data gathered on audiotape will be destroyed once transcribed.
