**Students and teachers truly loved this project. Teachers have noticed that all students from the lower grade levels have more confidence while reading in the classroom. Of the students that were in the program, 75% of their DRA and Easy CBM scores have improved. In the future, unfortunately, I would need to re- work the coverage for this program. Because I had a different dismissal area, it made it difficult to meet with the students every day like I had originally planned. C001, C002, C004, C005 Precious Bale
Relationships between students and teachers. -Pre-Climate Survey -Online grade level surveys taken during PLC Professional Development (Teaching At Risk Kids: Getting to Know What You Dont Know) -Student Survey for students of teachers that attended the PD. -Climate Post Service
**A week before the in-service, a survey was sent out to students that had teachers that would be attending the in- service. The survey asked a variety of questions about the climate of their classrooms. The survey indicated that 67% of students in those specific classrooms did not feel that their teachers respected them. The survey also showed that 55% of students thought their teacher yelled too much. Approximately two weeks after the in-service, another survey was sent out to students and the results were breathtaking. Now, only 8% of students felt their teachers did not respect them. In the comments section, many C001, C005 Precious Bale
students indicated that they noticed that their teachers talked to them more and explained their consequences. I also had a conversation with the teachers, and they commented that they feel their classroom management has improved which consequently has improved their instruction. Writing STAAR Night Parent Survey as an exit slip.
**Parents were very impressed by this event. At the end of the event, in order for students to receive free homework passes, their parents had to complete a survey. After I compiled the data I found that 100% of the parents enjoyed the night and thought it helped them to understand the relevance of Writing STAAR. Parents also commented that they liked that the activities were interactive and allowed for them to be involved C001, C002 Precious Bale
with their child. Although our campus has a STAAR night for math and reading, my survey showed that parents wished there was a STAAR night for all the subjects. I think this should be indication that other STAAR nights on campus may not be communicated well.
