expert testimony on whether Lois Lerner

House passed, 250-168, a non-binding
measure (H Res 565) urging the Department
of Justice to relinquish to a special counsel,
or independent prosecutor, its ongoing probe
of the IRSs targeting of certain groups
seeking tax-exempt status.

Bill for Energy Efficiency: The Senate
advanced, 79-20, a bipartisan bill to promote
energy efficiency in residential, commercial
and industrial sectors and the U.S.
government. A yes vote was to advance S
2262, which counts on voluntary compliance,
not mandates, to reach its goals.
In the week of May 12, the House will be in recess, while the Senate
will resume debate on a bill to promote energy efficiency in all sectors of
the economy and the federal government.
