A 15-week practicum where I took the lead of a classroom from day one. I
engaged in long range planning and continuously made changes to my lessons due to
continuous formative assessment.
Taught the entirety of the subtraction, addition, multiplication, and division
strategies units. I also taught the entirety of the hearing & sound, and rocks &
minerals units.
Completed a professional inquiry project, in which I focused on developing
students reading and writing skills with the use of precision reading.
Worked collaboratively with other staff members to create a student
centered learning environment.
Created and continuously updated a website to keep parents and students
informed (grade3fun.weebly.com).

Professional Semester II
March 2013 April 2013
Alexandra Middle School
Grade Eight, Math and Science, Medicine Hat, Alberta.

6 week practicum where I taught the entirety of the linear equations unit and
the light and optical unit. I also took part in teaching track and field events.
I integrated a wide variety of technology to promote student
learning. These activities included a photo scavenger hunt and edited videos that
were made via their cell phones.
I was involved in the drama club and supervising the school dance.

5 week practicum where I taught addition strategies, simple machines, and
assisted in daily 5 implementation. In addition, I took part in teaching a series of
lessons in physical education and social studies.
