1. What is your own vision of a classroom of the future?
Reality bites that typical classrooms are no longer exist. Nowadays,
technology advancement is really embraced by some educators to make
classroom more interesting, enjoyable and yet learning is fun to all learners.
Today, you can walk in into a classroom impressed by the iPads, interactive
touch-screen whiteboards and multimedia learning center in which they make
learning accessible and easy for students to digest learning into a meaningful
one and as well as in the part of a teacher.
Studies have shown that there are new ways for teachers and learners
to interact with technology. The evolution of 3D cameras that can recognize
sweeping hand and arm gestures could enable more natural navigation
through three dimensional models and simulations, while some automated
speech recognition can easily transfigured language learning through
pronunciation coaching and recitation practice. According to Eric Cooper,
senior researcher engineer at Intel stated that using technology that can
recognize fingertips without touching the screen can easily manipulate a 3D
object and move it around to different positions. It shows that technology
applications really add information and meaning to a real object which can
help deepen and broaden learners understanding from the whole concept.
Therefore, technology can create connectivity within the classroom to improve
learning environment so with minimize individual learners expressions of
excitement, frustration, boredom and also helping teachers to recognize
student motivation and retention for learning development.
Meanwhile, achieving good and educative classroom there are things to
considered; (a) the pedagogy should be learning oriented rather than
instruction oriented, student centered rather than teacher centered, (b) the
classroom process should encourage exploration, inquiry, investigation, and
discovery approaches to learning, (c) cooperative and collaborative styles of
learning should be favored and encouraged, (d) colearning involving both
teacher and students should often be pursued and lastly assessment practices
and instruments should be open and public, authentic, valid, and reliable.
Thus, it shows that educators must be diligent to ensure that high standards
and educational goals are met and that media and technology are used to
engage students.

In addition with, the classroom of the future will facilitate learning by
using technology enhanced objects, creating virtual communities and
physical learning spaces. The classroom of the future is a paper free as laptops
and other educational technology allow elimination of paper. All learners will
carry laptop computer which will lighten up their load of textbooks, heavy
backpacks, etc. and also it will make a cleaner classroom environment. The
used of laptops and tablets allows learners to keep electronic portfolios
effectively by enabling them to write their comments and reflections based on
the artifacts at any time. In some ways, portfolios will be used during parent
teacher conference as basis for the learners progress and parents assessment.
Therefore, the technology is accelerating every now and then; educators or
teachers should update themselves with new information and knowledge
through the use of new pedagogical tool in teaching media in effective and
efficient ways. Would you still prefer the traditional type classroom?
2. Determine factors that hinders and uplifts the implementation of
technology based classrooms. Factors will be explained in terms of
political climate, personal insights as a Teacher or as a school
administrator and the views of the students.
We have known that both security and financial considerations are
taken into account when it comes to the use of technology devices in schools.
Many of these devices or equipments do not come with handy or cheap prizes
and schools should need to evaluate with careful implementation in monitoring
web controls to prevent learners from accessing inappropriate content and also
to protect them from cyber bullying.
Taken consideration the Philippine educational systems, only private
schools can easily implement the e learning classrooms while public schools
still striving hard to meet half way the demand of technology gadgets. Yet,
public schools are lack with these equipments due to shorten financial budget
but still public school teachers nowadays are very innovative, resourceful and
creative to make learning possible and also making sure that the demand of
technological advancement are cater with every individual to make them
competent and competitive enough with this globalization.
Looking into the perspective views of a learner. Children nowadays are
very much inclined with gadgets and thats why they are label with techi

nitizens. Most of their time they want to spend with computers, thats why
traditional classroom is no longer appropriate with them because they can get
easily bored, frustrated and less attentive with their teacher thus it shows that
learning is in a crucial phase.
As time goes by, technology prices will downgrade and schools can able
to avail and embrace the opportunities created by more interactive classrooms
and in a broader range of smart devices. However, this will not only help
learners to engage in learning but it will provide them the development of
necessary skills that they will need in order to thrive in a demanding digital
world.
With the K to 12 program, ensuring a collaborative work with all the
stakeholders then there will be no child will be left behind and also achieving
100% literacy will not be a problem anymore and thus quality education will be
cater to all Filipino learners. In the nearer future, that Filipino learners are
doing an excellent and extraordinary performance that can able to compete
with other countries. Educational system in the Philippines is no longer than
the bottom line with all the qualifying standards examination. Therefore,
Filipino learners can stand amidst the challenges they will meet along the way.
