What Primary OR
Secondary
What I learnt from this when Where
I watched a clip of Emily
Atack interviewing a taxi
drivers, her friends who
drink, students, a nurse,
Russell Kane who has a
film that is called
alcohol its no joke
(which explains how life
is growing up with
alcohol) and John
Figans.
SECONDARY I've learnt that the NHS have helped 33,000 people
,from when they are drunk .I've also learnt that; there
is 10 units in alcohol bottles, 1.25 units can cause a
black out, 20 units or more is highly dangerous and
could cause severe death. when Emily tested these
teenagers they were all surprised on how many units
they were downing, so if we could make teenagers
aware then hopefully they will stop drinking . The main
problem that causes teenagers to drink heavily is peer
pleasure and our bodies can only reduce a unit of
alcohol an hour which means no matter when we
sleep we will still have alcohol in our systems.

I undertook a survey on
12 students to
understand teenagers
16 - 18 year olds actions
to binge drinking
PRIMARY I gathered that that 1 student drank at the age of 14, 4
drank at the age of 15. 2 drank at the age of 16 and 3
drank at the age of 17. 3 have never drank before, 7
have been drunk, 5 have never been drunk before, 5
have never been drunk more than once, 4 have been
drunk more than three times, 1 has been drunk more
than 5 times. I also gathered that 3 has passed out
from drinking, 1 has sustained an injury from drinking,
0 have been in trouble at home for drinking, 1 has
missed work or college from hangovers. 5 will spend
more than 5 on a drink, 4 will spend more than 10
on a drink, 3 will spend more than 13 on a drink and 1
will spend more than 20 on a drink. 1 drinks beer, 3
drinks cider, 6 drinks spirits and 3 drink alcohol fruit
pops. 3 was involved with the police 2 was infatuated
while drunk.

I used the internet as
a form of secondary
research to watch an
episode of doctors
on drinking.
SECONDARY I've found out that 2 out of 25 college students
binge drink, 17 shots over 10 minutes can kill
you and that 45% of engage in binge drinking. I
will use these statistics in a clip like this show to
persuade teenagers not to drink.

I looked at a clip of
Channel4 news,
where Stacy Ryans
went around
interviewing
teenagers.
SECONDARY In this clip I learnt that 9000 people under the
age of 18 received treatment and over 50%
failed to carry on their treatment in 2008. Over
5000 people were admitted to hospital for liver
failure. Alcohol related cirrhosis of the liver
amongst 25-34 years old has doubled in the last
ten years. You can put on so much weight from
drinking because every single unit contains 100
calories and a sign of liver failure are belly
aches. These facts and statistics will aid me in
persuading teenagers not to drink because the
facts are proven to be right and I can cut to a
clip of the VT. These facts can also help
teenagers who have the symptoms of liver
failure to go and get it checked up by their
doctors. I can use the fact that 70% of alcohol
are sold in stores.

I looked at a clip of a
radio host
commenting on a
personal matter of
the Chelsea's football
player Frank
Lampard.
SECONDARY The host disturbed Lampard from talking to him
countless times and made sly remarks about
him thereby making his guest feel
uncomfortable. So this helps me to not come
across as rude and arrogant .
