One Day Pre-School Lesson Plan


Theme: Plants

Letter: P
Objective:
They learn how plants grow and how photosynthesis works.



Activities for Free Play: (15 min)
Playing with
plastic dinosaurs




Playing in the
sand box with
little toys in it.
Dress up, they
had little
costumes that
they would put on
and pretend to be
what they put on.
Hot wheels, they
had little cars and
had to put
together a little
race.
Magnets, they
would put all
these little
magnets together
to create crazy
shapes.
Clean-up/Transition:

Circle time: (20 min)
Reading a P book, it didnt have anything to do with plants but it had Pinkalicious eats a Pink cupcake.
They watched Storybots and they sing about the letter P. They would sing the alphabet, they would
say what the day was, they would tell what the weather is like for the day.



Centers: (35 min/6-7 min each)
Music



Language
They would create
little plants and
give to their mom
Science
They would plant
a seed in a cup to
show that their
plant will grow.
Art
They drew
flowers with
finger paint.
Music
They would go in
the hall and dance
in a circle so they
grew.
Clean-up & Hand washing
After their last center they would go into the bathroom to wash up.
Snack: (15 min)
Pineapples, pears, pink lemonade, and milk


Outside/Large Motor: (20 min)

They would go outside and play with all the little toys that were there, bikes, cars, slides, play house.
Circle/Music/Good Bye: (20 min)
Theyd gather all their stuff and get ready to go get dropped off to their car.

weather.

2. Rational: Why is this knowledge or skill important for children to know and be able to do at this age? So when they get
into kindergarten they can know how to pronounce words and sentences properly.

3. Activity: Describe in detail the activity you plan to do with these children. They should start learning how things
grow and how things get to their size and how plants grow without water.

equipment needed to carry out this activity with the children?

In the preschool room in their chairs.

prepare for and carry out the activity with the children?
Glue, colored paper, paint, smocks, and
scissors

multiple ages and /or special needs students, in one classroom.
I would have my full attention on that one child who does not understand, but I wouldnt make it
obvious Id treat him just like the rest.

7. Evaluation: How will you evaluate the childrens achievement of the goal or objective?
I wouldnt grade him on it I would simply quiz him little by little.

5. Rational: Why is this knowledge or skill important for children to know and be able to do at this age? So they know how
to write things with the letter P but know how to pronounce them.

6. Activity: Describe in detail the activity you plan to do with these children. I plan on having them study the letter P
and what noises come out of it.

In the preschool room.

Paper and a marker. (Crayola)

I will have a teacher be on that specific child or id go and help him/her.

how a plant develops. Where the roots come out.

They can start to know that the sunlight hits the flower and gives it vitamins and water helps
it stay healthy.

only 3 seeds can really fit in a cup for it to have space to grow.

really fit.
