In this book, the Authors introduce us to what is ESP ( English for specific purposes) giving us details from where it began the development of this specific topic, telling us how they developed all the information related to the application of the English in specific areas (generally in specific careers) , and how they were supposed to apply all the information. ESP is an area in which people who are studying specific material (law, technology, gastronomy, etc) can study English for their own usage on what they are applying from, and relates all the specific language in their careers. The whole book is a guide for teachers or people who want to create or teach something in particular, due to the book is all related to ESP. It is divided in four sections in where each of these is new material; each of the sections is one step more in the developing of new material. For example, Section 1, what is ESP, The authors give us the introduction to the ESP, the beginnings of this area. Section 2, Course design, in this section the authors give us the theory for preparing the material in which we are going to rely on. Section 3, Application, in this section the authors give us the methodologies, how to prepare a syllabus, the materials that we can use to teach and how to evaluate all the information that we have designed. Finally in section 4, the author tell us what is our role as ESP teachers, because ESP is a specific area, the role of the teacher is not the same as an EGP teacher, they have minimum differences, still, not the same. This book is the central in my thesis, because I will prepare a unit related to ESP, in specific, gastronomy. I will rely on this book, and it will serve to me as a guide, in what I want to create.
