GOALS OF THE NEW AGE CONSERVATIVE PARTY ECONOMIC GROWTH We believe that an economy flourishes best when it is driven by the people, founded on hard work. Our goal is to create an environment in which private businesses can flourish, where the average worker finds satisfaction, and individual improvement results in strong economy as a whole. Our goal is to recover fully from the economic recession through individual integrity, initiative, and independence. EDUCATION We put great emphasis on education because it is our belief that having a well educated population will result in the long term integrity of all of Canada. Our goal is to enable citizens to take initiative; make well informed decisions regarding politics, contribute to the budding economy in fields such as healthcare, agriculture, and oil industries - which are constantly evolving and expanding. Our goal is for education to be available to everyone so all Canadians are able to independently provide for themselves without government intervention. LONG TERM PROSPERITY We believe in focusing on both long-term and short- term prosperity. Our goal is to not only to prosper now with economic stability, equality, sustainability, education, and independence- we hope to maintain that prosperity and stability for future generations to flourish as well. To do this, it is imperative to encourage citizens to take initiative for the benefit of all Canadians. DEMOCRACY It is our goal that every citizen has the knowledge and opportunity to have a voice in Canada, has the chance to debate current issues and influence the decisions Canada makes, and feels that the will of the people is represented through the members of government and the actions of Canada. Our government is accountable to all citizens and its duty is to serve the people. Our goal is to ensure that every individual has a voice in their government and makes use of this right.
Our Focus?
Integrity. Initiative. Independence.
Its in you. 4 | P a g e

CONSTI TUTI ONAL RI GHTS AND FREEDOMS INDIVIDUALISM The New Age Conservative (NAC) Party is right of center (between moderate and fascism) where the Conservatives are traditionally located. As such, our party is organized around individualism. We encourage individualism to the extent that everyones rights and freedoms are being respected as addressed in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Individualism is the most important aspect of a society because it reiterates that the duty of the government is to the happiness and welfare of the people. This means: Citizens should not be forced to abide by unnecessary standards because it makes society uniform. Economic freedom, where individuals work for their own self-interest rather than for others. Laws are implemented to protect rather than control. ASPECTS OF INDIVIDUALISM INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS Individual rights are things the government is entitled to give to the people, and freedoms are the abilities the people have under law. They would be present in the fair judicial systems in order to protect the people according to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and take measures to ensure the rest of the world is able to experience these freedoms. Our party believes in individual rights and freedoms because they are inalienable and undeniable and we have seen historically the negative ramifications of when these rights are infringed upon. SELF-INTEREST Self-interest is ones ability to do what they want according to their own initiative. It would be present in the economy, in ownership of property, and all rights and freedoms that Canadians hold. In all of these aspects, the individual has the ability, and therefore is responsible for their choices in their own self-interest. Our party believes in self-interest because it is a freedom of the people. All people should be allowed to prosper for themselves and their families. COMPETITION Competition occurs when businesses are able to compete and are free from unnecessary. It would be present in an open economy, because customers have the buying power, so companies must act in their own self- interest by improving their products and services to gain customers and compete with other businesses. Demand of the customer dictates what products are provided, and supply of the resources dictates which products are available. Together, supply and demand create fertile ground for competition. Our party believes in competition because it creates efficient businesses, lowers prices, and increases quality of products and services. A country with competition promotes an increase of large successful businesses which increase amount of jobs and, according to the trickle-down theory, benefits everyone. 7 | P a g e
ECONOMIC FREEDOM Economic freedom can be defined as the ability of people and businesses to do what they want with their wealth in the economy without government intervention. Freedoms would be seen in the economy in the form of low taxes and few restrictions except for protection and when supply and demand drives production and competition. Our party believes in economic freedom because it is not the governments right to decide what people do with their wealth. The services that the people decide are necessary for the government to provide (see Health Care and Education) will be covered by taxes, but ultimately the spending power lies in the people. RULE OF LAW Rule of law is the power of law in a society and is applicable to everyone, including leaders. It should be seen in the laws created by the government never impeding on the wellbeing or rights of the people and they are to be followed by everyone, even those in power. Our party believes rule of law because it is the governments responsibility to create rules and restrictions for the people to ensure safety, and do to this, the government, which is the servant of the people, should be held to a higher standard. PRIVATE PROPERTY Private property is individual ownership of land, property, wealth, and business. It is present in Canada where private property is protected under the law. Private property is more important than government property because an increase of public property increases the power of the government, thereby lessens the power of the people. INFLUENCES CULTURE Culture is an important aspect of a persons life so all people are free to be themselves, not to conforming to uniformities of society for the sole purpose of all being the same. We believe that cultural diversity is more important than uniformity because it enforces the ideals of individualism. LANGUAGE People should not have to conform to a social norm or become homogenized. You have the right to speak any language but the official languages, English and French, are the primary societal languages. This influences individualistic ideals because although enforcing different languages is a right, there will be minimal government programs and institutions for the purpose of supporting these languages.

MEDIA The media allows us to access information regarding the events happening around the world. People are easily able to communicate information which enables advancement worldwide. This influences individualism because we believe in freedom of speech and the press so that every opinion can be discussed. At the same time, world events effect our perception of our society and the individualism we value, so freedom of media helps us see things objectively. RELATIONSHIP TO LAND Land is sacred to many cultures such as the, First Nations People, who hold a religious tie to the land which should always be respected. However, it is also a valuable tool for creating a strong economy as it provides resources such as oil reserves and forests. While the land will be respected and appreciated for the benefit of specific groups, Canada should take advantage of the wealth and prosperity of our nation. ENVIRONMENT The environment is a valuable resource, but it is often taken for granted. The contribution that the environment offers to our economic prosperity influences NAC Partys conviction that it needs to be used, but not misused. Due to how valuable it is, we must make sure to maintain and preserve it so that future generations can also benefit from its resources. RELIGION In Canada, there should be no restriction or requirement on religious beliefs. They can be a constructive force that builds peoples characters, but religious believes are solely decided by the individual. Individualist beliefs dictate that religious groups have the right to practice and promote their beliefs according to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, as long as they do not infringe on the right of others. CHARACTERISTICS OF I DEOLOGIES THE HUMAN NATURE We believe people to be naturally good but are extremely impressionable. We trust the people to appreciate their rights and respect the rights of others so that the government does not need to intrude by making laws and limiting freedoms. The people are trusted with both social and economic aspects of the country. They will be trusted to take care of the economy with the philosophy that a free market, driven by the supply and demand of the people, is the best way to strengthen the economy. INTERPRETATIONS OF HISTORY History is something that should be learned from such as showing that extremist governments always fall. In the French Revolution, the monarchy of the Renaissance Era eventually fell, as it did not give people rights. Individual rights are taken to be of high importance so the most functional government as it is accountable to its people. History should be learned from so 9 | P a g e
we do not repeat the same mistakes; however, current generations should not be held accountable to the actions of previous generations. SOCIETAL STRUCTURE There is no hierarchy in a democratic state. All people are equal and have the same opportunity to vote and work hard for their goals. The ideal structure is where no one is discriminated based on gender, race, age, religion, language, or any other. Rulers are also equal to the people. A legislative branch, executive branch and a judicial branch are in place to ensure the will of the people and their rights and freedoms are respected. With the government separated, one group or individuals will not be able to control and overcome the people. VISIONS FOR THE FUTURE The NAC Party believes in continual advancement and will support education, healthcare, and the economy: A globally competitive education system where students are given the full opportunity to further their education and are inspired to continue lifelong learning. Advanced health care system with innovation and research Support the economy recession or inflation by creating jobs and opportunities. With these goals in mind, we hope the incentive and hardworking mentality becomes prevalent as individuals are able to work in their own self interests. INFLUENCING PHILOPSPHERS JOHN STEWARD MILL Like John Steward Mill, we believe that a government should not be in power if it abuses and impedes on individual rights. John Steward Mill influenced our beliefs because he thought the only limitations that should be placed on an individual should be those that protect the liberty of others. People should have the freedom of speech to encourage intellectual and social progress. JOHN LOCKE John Locke believed that individual rights are important but there would be times when they should be restricted for the general public safety. We agree that there are going to be situations when public protection will be more important than individual rights but the only reason government exists is to protect livery and property of the people. In the case of war or when the physical safety of the people is at risk, the government should have the ability to make temporary changes to the rights of the people. ( ie. The government should be allowed in times of terrorism to have stricter airport rules and checks and when there is an epidemic, vaccines will be available and strongly encouraged.) CANADA S ECONOMY 10 | P a g e
INFLUENCES OF THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION The NAC Party is on the right side of the economic spectrum. The Industrial Revolution has helped to shape the economic ideology of the NAC Party in four main ways. INDUSTRIALIZATION As the industries in rural areas during the Industrial Revolution grew, the power of capitalism started to become increasingly present, along with the theory of the invisible hand which a capitalist state would use to guide their economy. Capitalism is one of the main ideologies that this party values and became an important part of todays economic system through industrialization. CLASS SYSTEM The Industrial Revolution led to the development of new social classes: A middle class was created which consisted of entrepreneurs and businessmen. This led to the ideas of industrial capitalism, which is a large component of our economic system. The result is a division between white and blue collar individuals and is still seen. ROLE OF GOVERNMENT The NAC Party values the reduction of government responsibility in the economy. In the Industrial Revolution, and the adoption of a free market system, the economic involvement of the government was lowered and the ownership and means of production were privately owned, the economic flow of the country guided itself. These are the factors that dictate a market economy today. LABOR UNIONS During the Industrial Revolution, unions were created to make sure workers rights were not violated. Today they are misused and enable passivity of the worker. The NAC Party values Laissez-Faire economics, believing that the government should stay out of business economics so we do not advocate for labor unions. Individuals should have a choice of joining them if they are not implemented and are welcome to form their own groups, without government involvement. PHILOSOPHERS Adam Smith believed that people worked first and foremost for themselves and therefore everone, including the state, would be better off. His idea that people are most motivated to work for their own gain, is a large influence in our capitalist based economy. Smith was a large supporter of the free market and preached that when people worked hard for themselves, everyone would benefit. All of Adam Smith's ideologies fit and support the economic path that the NAC Party is embodies; an economy where people are free to determine their economic status and where the power of the free market is encouraged. Friedrich Hayek and Milton Friedman also had economic views similar to Adam Smith. They both encouraged economies that focused on fluctuation through an independent economy. GOODS AND SERVICES Health Care will be provided to the public through a two-tiered health care program where the government provides a health care that covers medical service for all citizens, while a secondary tier exists for those who can afford additional services and/or higher quality. Health Care and education should be available to everyone 11 | P a g e
Everyone will have an equal opportunity to be able to access an education, in the end our country will benefit by having well educated individuals contributing to our society. Government funding should be more focused on education rather that support programs later in life, to prevent for need of future government assistance. The NAC Party values a free market system so individuals are responsible for taking care of their own needs. Industries such as Oil and Gas, and Agriculture are empowering for Canadas economy. Goods from these fields are traded or sold within the Canada or to other countries. TAXATION The majority of needs should be paid for by the individual so collective taxes will be kept relatively low. The Graduated Taxation System will be implemented where the lower portion of income earners are not taxed as heavily as the higher end. Spending should be focused on creating jobs and infrastructure. Progressive taxation of individuals off their income allows for services to be provided such as education and health care. Keeping taxes low allows people to have the freedom to invest their money where they chose rather than the government dictating where a significant percent of their income is spent. Companies and corporations pay tax on profit income and on capital. These make up a relatively small portion of total tax revenue. Since businesses are the source of income for individuals, they should be able to be taxed less in order to spend more on wages. In order to address the income gap, the highest paid employee can only be paid a certain percent more than the lowest paid employee. INCOME INEQUALITY It is a result of a market economy because capitalism encourages hard work and competition so naturally there will be disparity. The government will do little to manipulate the economy to reduce this gap; however an intended result of letting the economy prosper on its own is a large middle class, small lower class, and growing upper class. (See above for policy on Graduated Taxation) HEALTH CARE In the two-tiered system, care is available to everyone but there is also opportunity for individuals to pay for other faster services (as described under Goods and Services). The integrity of public service will be maintained by regulating the time that specialized doctors are able to spend in the private sector and taxation will be kept the same. There will be a focus on healthcare research to provide better quality, expedient, affordable, and innovative health care universally. EDUCATION Education should be a major focus of funds because new generations are the future, so tax dollars will continue to pay for a significant part of university and there will be tax breaks offered for cooperation which provide substantial scholarships for students pursuing 12 | P a g e
post-secondary education. Taxes should be focused on education with the goals of schools having smaller class size, funding for technology, and extracurricular activities. MILITARY Military is funded by the government through tax dollars and its current size should be maintained but not expanded. By spending less or equal to what is currently spent, the NAC Party will work as peace keepers in Canadas self-interests and be on guard in case of internal emergency. LABOUR UNIONS Workers rights are supported and individuals are free to join a union which supports their workers rights. The NAC Party will not interfere in favor or in opposition therefore there will be no tax contribution for unions. (See Labor Unions section above for policy) OLD AGE AND PENSION PLANS Our Government recognizes that Canadas seniors help build and make our country great. We hope to not only maintain the current system, but improve the quality of life and expand opportunities for Canadian seniors. We hope to make the retirement age more fair; for individuals who need to retire early, they should be able to do so, but also eliminate the mandatory retirement age for federally-regulated employees. These measures help give seniors the freedom to remain in the workforce if they want to. We hope to maintain the current integrity of our pension plans and elderly services. UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS We recognize that many individuals need assistance at times, but our policy is giving a hand up, rather than a hand out. Unemployment benefits would be to help people who need money and are making an effort to fix their situation, in this sense, they've earned the benefits. They are helpful because they stimulate the economy because an increase in demand will cause businesses to hire more workers. As business picks up, and more people want goods and services, businesses will hire. When the private sector is not providing this increase in demand, the government will. DEMOCRATI C STRUCTURE DEMOCRACY OVER AUTHORITARIANISM The NAC Party is democratic as opposed to authoritarian. Authoritarian governments sometimes do not rule in the interest of the citizens, which is an important aspect to our party because we ultimately believe that the power should be in the people to govern themselves and make choices they feel is fitting for society. The NAC Party respects political rights of all individuals with no one group ruling over everyone else. In authoritarian governments, there is tight control of the economy which is in complete contrast to what the NAC Party believes. The belief is that every individual will work for and advance their own self and that each individual should have the freedom to work in their best interest. DEMOCRACY IN CANADA 13 | P a g e
Consensus Decision- Making: A process whereby a group of individuals share ideas, solutions, and concerns to find a resolution to a problem that all members of the group can accept. The NAC Party does not support this form of democracy. Everyone has their own voice so we will never come to a consensus. If we come to a consensus it would only show that opinions have been influenced, and it may not necessarily be ones own voice. This would be a successful system for a small group, but in a nation with millions of people, it is unrealistic. Direct Democracy: A form of government in which the people participate in deciding issues directly. A direct democracy operates on the belief that every citizens voice is important and necessary for the orderly and efficient operation of society. This is good because all voices are heard, but not practical in a country with millions of people. It is timely, costly, and inefficient. The process is very slow and this will hinder the process of the country and the ability to pass legislation. Representative Democracy: A form of government in which a small group of politicians are elected by a larger group of citizens. The people participate in deciding issues through elected officials who represent them and make laws in their interests. This is close to a direct democracy where you can delegate someone you trust to make decisions for you in politics but is more efficient. At the same time, if your representative makes a decision that is against the majority will, you have the opportunity to oppose what they decide. When the opposition votes against a bill, there is a new election for a new government. Authoritarian Political System: A form of government with authority vested in an elite group that may or may not rule in the interests of the people. Authoritarian political systems take many forms, including oligarchies, military dictatorships, ideological one- party states, and monarchies. Authoritarian systems infringe on human rights. Authoritarian governments do not work for the interest of their people, often times they only work in the best interests of the government itself. Our party believes it is the right and responsibility of the individual to make well-informed decisions for them and that they have the capacity and self determination to do so. POSITIONS Miriam Robak Party Leader Speaks to her political party and represents them. Is responsible for managing the party's relationship with the general public. Takes a leading role in developing and communicating party policy, especially election platforms, to the electorate. Is the public face of the party and the principal media contact.
Christina Sgaggi Campaign Manager Is the main "go to" person Is responsible for overseeing all aspects of promotional campaigns. She promotes NAC Party support
Tien Nguyen VP Communications Is responsible for the development NAC Party Campaign costs, its Communication strategy, and will contribute to our organizational strategic planning process. She implements public relations activities relative to the strategic direction and positioning of the organization and its leadership.
Holly Dagg Political Party Agent: Works at a constituency level to undertake promotional, administrative and fundraising activities.
Richard Dudley Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Is responsible for financial planning and record-keeping, as well as financial reporting to higher management. He is also responsible for analysis of data. 14 | P a g e
BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT Executive: The executive branch is responsible for signing of laws that are created by the legislative branch. The executive branch consists of: the Queen, Governor General, and Prime Minister. Legislative: The legislative branch is responsible for proposing and creating laws. The legislative branch works alongside the judicial branch as the justice of the people coincides with the laws that they are required to abide by. The legislative branch consists of Members of Parliament (MPs) and Senators. MPs and Senators are both elected, not appointed. Judicial: The judicial branch is responsible for bringing justice forth and enforcing the law. The judicial branch consists of The Supreme Court, Judges and the Police TECHNIQUES OF GOVERNMENANCE Democracy: Citizens have the right to vote, regardless of age, gender, religion, or educational background. Individuals should make choices for themselves and delegate to those who will reflect their ideologies and perspectives. Likewise, voters have a responsibility to understand the platform of each party before voting. Freedom of Speech, Freedom of the Media and Freedom of Peaceful Assembly: Individuals have the right to express their opinion without outer influence of the government, and to peacefully assemble in public areas. Vision: Our party believes in growing and expanding Canada, mainly in economics, to ensure its citizens can continue to prosper and flourish. (See Visions for the Future) Government Responsibility: The government is responsible and accountable for its actions. They should always be in the interest of the people, but if they are not, it is the peoples responsibility to speak out. Every person has the rights and freedoms to do what they want, so therefore, they are responsible and accountable for their actions. ELECTION MODEL In proportional representation, the percent of each partys representatives in the government is the same as the percent of votes each party receives. The NAC Party favors this model because it accurately represents the will of the people. Often in representation by population, there is a tendency to over-represent the majority party and under-represent other parties. This results in voters feeling like their votes are not considered and voter apathy becomes prevalent. In proportional representation, every vote counts, so people are more likely to vote. By making sure that two thirds of the MPs are elected by the people and only one third are appointed, this ensures that there is representation from all across Canada. VIABILI TY OF LIBERALISM PROMOTING INDIVIDUAL AND COLLECTIVE RIGHTS SECURITY AND INTERNATIONAL EMERGENCIES In security emergencies, while individual rights are of the utmost importance, collective security will be prioritized. For example, when flying internationally, citizens will have to comply with other countrys security measures and with our own emergency procedures to ensure collective security. ENVIRONMENTAL AND NATURAL EMERGENCIES 15 | P a g e
In situations of environmental and natural emergencies, there will be government help and funding, but the individual should take the necessary precautions and preparations for the emergencies that may arise. Funding should be focused on prevention (ie. forest fires) so there will be less need for emergency response. In times of environmental distress, police, firefighters, and first response workers, will act to help citizens. Situations that are not preventable (ie. tornados) will have extra funding but citizens are encouraged to have emergency insurance and will be educated on how to stay safe. In these situations, collective and individual rights are treated equally. POLICI ES ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS The NAC Party wishes to prosper Canada for the long term so there will be government funding of education in schools on prevention of environmental issues (ie. climate change) and tax breaks for companies who are working to become more eco- friendly. Individuals should take initiative to work to be more environmentally conscience. RESOURCE USE AND DEVELOPMENT Corporations reserve the right to develop and take advantage of Canadas resources. If the development of land or resources is harmful to our country and proper reclamation measure are not taken, corporations will be held responsible and heavily punished. (See section on Environment) POVERTY Poverty is an evident problem in modern day society, and each of our citizens should do what they can to help prevent their own fall below the poverty line. Our government will have programs to assist those who find themselves in that situation, such as welfare programs and publicly owned homeless shelters. Since the rates of family and child poverty are climbing higher and higher, we will delegate funding to the YWCA and other similar programs. Publically owned homeless shelters and centers such as the YMCA and YWCA will have courses to help individuals and families get back on their feet. This policy is providing a hand up to people who need it most. RACISM The Canadian Human Rights Act protects the rights of minorities. Those who express their individual right of freedom of speech must do so within the boundary of trespassing on others individual right or their feeling of safety therefore hate speech will be illegal. PANDEMICS Pandemic focus should be on prevention rather than treatment. While it will not be enforced to be vaccinated, it will be strongly suggested in government funded educational programs that citizens will take advantage of them. Vaccinations will be covered by universal health care. Collective safety will be prioritized over individual rights so that infected individuals can be quarantined where there is an outbreak. 16 | P a g e
CENSORSHIP The people of Canada deserve to know exactly what is going on in the world; therefore, censoring topics in the media are against the values we hold. Censoring and controlling the media is the first step towards an authoritarian government. However, censoring graphic content in publicly owned media sources can help create a less desensitized society. Therefore, we give the individual the choice to discern for themselves the content they view. TERRORISM The government reserves the right to increase security measures when there is threat of terrorist attacks, though they will not overshadow the rights and freedoms of each individual. Terrorism will be dealt with as a Security and National Emergency. (See Security and National Emergency section for policy) INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY Theft of intellectual property should be discouraged and punished. In this occurrence, the NAC Party would treat this harshly as theft as it is the private property of the individual. ENCOURAGING CITIZENSHIP In the NAC party, we believe in individual rights over collective rights. Our party will encourage citizens to participate in politics and to express their opinions through education and decreasing voter apathy by changing to a proportional representation election model. This will help the people appreciate the government and law, knowing that they can make an impact on their society. We believe that when you commit a crime, there must be a fitting punishment. Educating citizens on these policies will show them that why must follow the law and order of society. CRISIS MANAGEMENT HUMANITARIAN CRISIS Canadas participation in the Japan Tsunami of 2012, Canada sent relief both immediately and for long term recovery. In a humanitarian crisis such as this, we would have also sent relief in order to maintain a good global reputation. Additionally, from an economic standpoint, Japan is a large trade partner and it is in Canadas self-interest to support a nation with a strong economy such as Japan. CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENTS Feminist movements such as womans suffrage were met eventually with compliance. Today there is still discrimination based on gender in the workplace, and met with this situation, the NAC Party would also honor campaigns. What Canada would do to rid our culture of the harmful gender roles that hold us back, would be harsher punishments for offenders and laws against gender discrimination. ANTIWAR MOVEMENTS 17 | P a g e
Many people protested Americas involvement in the Vietnam War because it was believed that it was not beneficial for either nation, nor was it in Americas best interest. The movements that protested this war were not taken into consideration which is seen when America did not relent until there was an agreement reached with their warring opponent rather than stopping the war because of their peoples desires. Canada would have not handled this the same way; the NAC Party would not have gone to war unless it is reasonable and beneficial for us, and we would have considered the will of the people when they protested. PRO-DEMOCRACY MOVEMENTS Pro-democracy movements such as the Egyptian uprising would not be dealt with lightly. In this situation, the governing power relented but a new dictatorship was put in place, nullifying the purpose of a reformation. If the NAC Party was in power when a pro-democracy movement was underway in another country, we would wait and observe the events unless there was a United Nations involvement in which case we would become involved.
