I have read that graffiti exists since ancient times. Graffiti is a way to express oneself
through writing or a drawing on a wall. What makes graffiti a unique art are the colors
artists use, the style of the letters and the place where the drawings are made.

In graffiti the colors are very important. This means that the color choice is essential.
The color choice helps you identify how the artist feels. Graffiti artists use the color
wheel so the colors blend and look better. Some colors they use are blue, purple, sky
blue etc. Another type of colors are red, orange yellow, green etc. These colors are
known as warm and cold colors. Warm colors can be happy, frustrated colors. Cold
colors can be sad, devastated colors. Graffiti artists like WA and Patrick Labrousse say
that colors are very important in graffiti. Its very important what colors you use because
the colors help the viewer identify the message your trying to send.

The styles of the letters are what make people wonder about graffiti. It makes people
have millions of questions in their head. Graffiti has two different styles, tags graffiti and
gang graffiti. Taggers are people who seek through places to tag their names in an
artistic way. Gang graffiti, artists draw to mark their territory. The area marked with
unique signs and symbols is the territory of a particular gang, to intimidate residents or
challenge other gangs. Wa used to seek and do graffiti. He says that its a little legal if
you ask the owner of the property, but to make it legal you have to ask the municipality.

It is also very common that people do graffiti in public places. In many places all around
the world Graffiti artists express their art through different drawings in subways,
railways, tunnels etc. It is also very common graffiti artists do graffiti on places like
alleys. Alleys are narrow passageways in between or behind buildings. Graffiti is also
done for decoration in stores and homes. We can also find graffiti in art museums. WAs
graffiti has appeared on many art galleries.

As you can see, graffiti can be understood in different ways. It is much more than just a
drawing done on a wall. Through the colors, type of letters and places they are done,
graffiti can mean a lot of things. Maybe the artists want to tell something to the world.
Maybe a message or a protest about something.
