Directions:
Cast-on 80 stitches using the long tail on US
Size 5 DPN. Divide evenly between 4 DPNs
(20 stiches per DPN).
Join for working in the round and place a
stitch marker at the end of the round. Work
in 1x1 rib (k1, P1) for five rounds.

Change to a US Size 7 DPN, and then knit
until the entire hat measures 5 inches.

Once you reach the 5 inches do the Kitchener stitch to finish up the hat. Here is a good video
tutorial of the Kitchener stitch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmgE7YQkrFw

Use a contrasting scrap yarn to make the tassels and cut out the felt for the face of the owl and
sew it on however you would like.

I had a blast designing and
making this hat; I hope you
enjoy it as much as I did.
