I am very excited to apply for the position of an E.R. scribe in your company, Medical Scribe Systems. I
feel that my qualifications and background allow me to make a strong application for this job. I am an
undergraduate biology major and plan to apply to a Physicians Assistant masters program this coming
year. Shadowing a hospital P.A. for the past six months has taught me that I work well in the fast-paced
environment of the Emergency Department. As a future P.A. student, I have a passion for medicine and
an enthusiasm for learning that I feel will be evident in my work. Shadowing has also given me a
familiarity with hospital protocol and medical terminology as well as the taking of medical histories and
documentation (SOAP notes), skills that will enable me to work efficiently as an E.R. scribe.
I am a hard worker and am self-motivated, responsible and focused. I work well under pressure and can
work long hours and late nights. I believe that these qualities, along with my strong writing and
communication skills, will make me an excellent medical scribe. Additionally, I am a proficient typist and
master new computer programs fairly quickly, something I have had to do at my current place of
employment. I have a positive attitude and work well as part of a team. My work at Camp Simcha, a
summer program for children with cancer which many children from my own community attend, has
taught me the importance of discretion and respect when dealing with patients and their medical
histories.
I was impressed to see that your company was one of the first to recognize the value of scribes as part
of the medical team and I would be proud to be part of one of the leading medical scribe programs in
