THE UGLY DUCKLING

Based on the story The Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Andersen that I have
read, I find that there are a lot of lesson that I learned from the story.
The first lesson that I learned from this story is we should accept others as
they are. In the story, the Ugly Duckling was not accepted by its own family and
other animals because it is ugly and different. I myself studied with people that has
different race, culture and religion background from me in my class and still get along
very well with them and even learn new things from them. As a student, we should
accept people no matter what is our differences are because we studied in the same
place and live in the same place.
The next lesson that I learned was we should transform to be better as we
grows up. Just like In the story, the Ugly Duckling eventually transformed into a
beautiful swan as the day passes. For myself, I always participate in any activities
such as sports and organization which gives me new experiences and knowledge.
As a student, this is important because we should always try to improve ourselves
and learn new skill to become a better and knowledgeable student.
Besides that, I also learned that we should appreciate ourselves as we are. In
the story, the Ugly Duckling felt so ugly and always tried to avoid any animals it has
encountered. In my experience, sometimes I feel sad for not getting what I wanted.
However I will try to find solution and make it happen. As a student we should
appreciate ourselves as we are and always believe that we are special in our own
way. We should not let our weakness overpowered ourselves. We should always
believe in our ability to achieve success in anything we do.
