Standard 5: Using Content knowledge to Build Meaningful Curriculum

Course: Adapting the curriculum for the Special Needs Child (ECED3080)
Assignment: Development a curriculum that promote whole development areas and respond to
diversity among children .

Cchildren are not equal and this thing must be consider when come to build curriculum
including all students even when comes to teach. Also, teachers should take in account the
range of their students, current levels of learning, strengths, goals and interests and personalize
learning where necessary through adjustments to the teaching and learning program, according to
individual learning need. In addition, this assignment talk about how to adapt an integrated
curriculum among diversity children using information about them to build meaningful
curriculum that meet their needs in all domains.
Perhaps I get some students with c thus this course helped me to work on unified approach to
each and integrate materials and ways that serve them all. I learned about children with
disabilities and their characteristics ,for example, children with autism , children with learning
difficulties, children with mental retardation ... Etc. In this assignment I discussed how to
develop a curriculum includes children with downs syndrome and how to combine them with
their peers by focusing on provide activities and strategies that encourage strong points in down's
syndrome children such visual thing ,pictures ,videos . And try to stick to the routine as much as
possible because they may confuse if the systems change.
In the future, I plan to collect an appropriate activities that fit with certain type of children
with disabilities in file or create a manual including all activities in case some of my students or
even any relatives children are special needs
