Franklin D. Roosevelt served the longest term as President. He was elected President during the Great Depression with hope of changing the unemployment problems. He created the “New Deal” to provide relief for the unemployed, recovery of the economy, and to reform the economic and banking systems. Franklin D. Roosevelt also is known for developing the Social Security Systems. F.D.R lived from 1882-1945.
