Rep. Mike Dovilla Releases Statement on New U.S. EPA Rules

COLUMBUS State Representative Mike Dovilla (R-Berea) released the following statement
in response to the proposed U.S. EPAs mandates on power plants and its effect on Ohioans:

It is abundantly clear that the proposed U.S. EPA mandates on electricity production will
lead to increasing unreliability and unaffordable electricity prices for all Ohioans. Ohio is
already expected to lose more than 6.5 Gigawatts of power generation and more than 24
power plants by 2015 based on the last round of EPA mandates. With family budgets
already stretched thin, we cannot afford to see the projected electricity rate increases of up
to 28 percent.

As Washington bureaucrats continue their drive to force Ohios electrical workers, miners,
and manufacturers into the unemployment line and force family budgets to the breaking
point, this General Assembly must be committed to ensuring Ohioans have access to
affordable and reliable energy.
