1) The student is responsible for coming to class with a pencil, math notebook, and completed homework daily. If the student forgets any of these materials three times, the teacher will assign lunch detention. 2) The student must report to class on time, or with an excused pass, every single day. Three tardies will result in a lunch detention for the student. 3) The students grade for each nine week grading period is comprised of points earned from homework assignments, in-class assignments, quizzes, and tests. Generally, homework is scored out of 10 points, five points awarded based on completion of the assignment and the other five from randomly selected problems checked for correctness. You must show your work to receive credit for assignments, quizzes, and tests. If you do not show your work, you will receive no credit (unless otherwise specified). 4) The student is responsible for completing homework on time. When the student knows he/she will be out, they are responsible for getting the assignments prior to the absence(s) so they do not fall behind. Late homework will be accepted for partial credit accordingly: 25% off for one day late, 50% off for two days late, and no credit will be given for assignments that are three or more days late. 5) The student is responsible for making up work from an excused absence according to the districts policy. If you miss the day a test is scheduled, you will take it the day you return. If you miss one day prior to an assessment, you will take it the day the test is scheduled. More than one absence prior to an exam will be discussed with the instructor as needed. 6) The student will be assigned nine hall passes each nine-week grading period. The student should reserve these passes for emergencies, and try to go before or after class to avoid using these passes as they will be collected at the end of the grading period where the student will be awarded two bonus points for each unused hall pass. 7) Every student should purchase a TI-30X IIS calculator (or better) for this course. If a student cannot bring their own calculator, they will be allowed to use a calculator during class by signing out a number and returning the calculator at the end of class. If the calculator is damaged that a student signs out, he/she will be responsible for paying for a replacement device and will not be allowed to use the schools calculators in class again. 8) I will be available to help students throughout the day and before/after school when prior arrangements have been made with me. Please do not fall behind, if you need help stop by! 9) Class information, current grades, and assignment calendars will be available through our school website. Please access this website to view updated grades prior to contacting the teacher about a students grades.
