Bald/Brunet by Daniil Gink

Translated by John Freedman

1 female, 2 males. One interior. Two acts.

A middle-aged, balding musician is compelled to look back
over his life. And at that moment, when his childhood
arises before his eyes, he is confronted by two figures, a
young brunet male and an attractive young woman. There is
something excruciatingly familiar about both of them,
although the bald man cannot quite put his finger on what
it is. The two younger figures tease and mock and prod the
older man, forcing him to remember details of his life he
had completely forgotten, and inducing him to draw
conclusions about the life he has lived. Memory, idealism,
love and art they are all put to the test in this
eccentric and revealing play.
