Introduction
We are comparing the quality of life in Canada to the Pacific
region, and the Europe region. In the Europe region we chose
to research Finland and Greece. In the Pacific region we chose
to research Australia and Fiji. In this project we will discuss
and compare the quality of Canada to these 4 other countries.
Life Expectancy
The life expectancy is the average period that a person may
expect to live.

Australia was the highest
Fiji was the lowest
Possible reasons for results:
-Australia may have the highest life expectancy due to
the amount of doctors
-The great life conditions
-Arent a lot of diseases or war related issues
happening
-Fiji has a small amount of doctors

GDP Per Capita
The GDP is the market value of all final goods and services
produced within a country in a year, or a given time.

Australia has the highest GDP per Capita
Fiji had the lowest
Reasons could be because of the mass production in the
country
Fiji does not have plentiful mass production due to the size &
small population

Literacy/Education Level
The literacy/education level is the ability to read and write

Finland has the highest literacy level
Fiji has the lowest literacy level
Finland has the highest due to its prestigious education
system
Fiji may not have the best education system.

Infant Mortality Rate
Infant mortality is the death of children under the age in one
year

Fiji has the highest amount of infant mortality.
Finland has the lowest.
Fiji probably has this high rate because they have a very
small amount of physicians per 1000 people.

Population Below Poverty
Line
The poverty line is the minimum income level used as much as an official
standard for determining the proportion of a population living in poverty.

Fiji has the highest amount of their population below the poverty line.
Canada has the least amount.
Fiji has a high percentage because of its location and a poorer
economy.
Canada is very large and has a much better economy.

Cost of Living (Loaf
of Bread)
The cost of living is the level of prices relating to a range of
everyday items.

Canada has the highest price for a loaf of bread.
Fiji has the lowest price for a loaf of bread.
Canada has to pay for taxes, the shipping and handling and
many other factors including the higher GDP.
Fiji can usually make it locally and they have a lower GDP
per capita so the prices need to be adjusted in order for them
to be affordable.

Obesity Prevalence in Adults
The obesity prevalence of adults is the average amount of obese adults.

Fiji has the highest and Greece has the lowest.
Fiji has the lowest amount of physicians per 1000 people and the weather
conditions are more intense, making people stay inside more often.
Greece has the lowest amount of obesity prevalence because food is less
accessible, the weather is mild, so people tend to gain more physical
activity.

Conclusion
In conclusion, we learned that this project makes it quite
difficult to compare and contrast the qualities in different
regions. Every region and country has many different positive
aspects as well as negative aspects. In certain regions you
cannot tell whether or not it is wealthy or well developed, since
each country within the regions is diverse.
