friend of Tom Sawyer.

In the house of the widow Douglas
3. What secret did the boys swear to keep?
Jim was already a free man
4. What did they use blood for?
to make a kind of oath which children have to sign, which nobody seems to
have any qualms.

CHAPTER 2
1. What punishment did Huck get when he missed school?
as punishment, Aunt Polly forces Huck to paint near her home
2. Whose footmarks did Huck see in the snow?
Pap, huck's father
3. How much did Judge Thatcher pay Huck for his property?
Huck agrees, signs a document, the judge gives him a dollar as pay for all
his property, and leaves.
4. What did Pap do with Hucks dollar?
Pap does manage to steal the last dollar Huck has, which he uses to get drunk
in town.


CHAPTER 3
1. Where did Pap take Huck to?
Pap takes Huck to a deserted cabin in the woods on the Illinois side of the
Mississippi River.
2. Where did Huck hide the canoe?
Huck finds a canoe drifting in the river and hides it in the woods (a little
stream for future use).

Because he wanted to sell the canoe

they was firing cannon over the water, trying to make my carcass come to
