To Whom It May Concern:

From September 2012 to November 2012, Krystal Renton was my long-term substitute
during my extended maternity leave.

Krystal exceeded my expectations as she completely took over all of my classroom
responsibilities with total poise and professionalism. As she successfully implemented the
Rochester Community Schools curriculum in the social studies disciplines, she created and
planned her own lessons that accommodated the diverse students in the classroom.
During this dynamic instruction students found success as they enjoyed her delivery and
strong content knowledge.

Krystal also collaborated with other teachers in the Social Studies department and was able
to share ideas and learn from more seasoned teachers. Additionally, she worked closely
with staff members in the building regarding student performance and parent
communication. Furthermore, Krystal took over two Advanced Placement United States
History classes, a course that was new to me, and therefore not fully prepared.

Krystal was able to challenge students allowing them to meet and exceed expectations.
Careful not to disrupt the balance of independence and interdependence, she allowed
students to celebrate their individuality as they were encouraged to embrace diversity and
their individual learning styles. As a result of her accomplishments in the classroom, I am
convinced she will be an excellent educator.

Krystal possesses outstanding qualities that would complement any classroom. She is
efficient, capable, and maintains a persona that is reflective of an effective and professional
educator. I know she will distinguish herself and promote excellence in the field of
education.
