What is a
standard mould?
Mould tools are used to manufacture moulded plastic parts. These tools are made up of several
steel plates as well as accessories which are produced by Meusburger. The toolmaker in turn
will machine with milling, electrical discharge machining and grinding operations the desired
cavity (which will be lled with uid plastic).
The mould tool consists of a xed half and a moving half which are opened and closed with
guiding elements such as pillars and bushes. Both mould parts have to be adjusted within very
narrow tolerances to t together and close thoroughly.
