Reflection

ThisyearinAlgebra1Igavesomuchefforttowardmyworkandtest.Forexample,
firstquarterthroughfourthquarterIhadAs.AlsoIhavepassedeveryquizandtestwithan
Athatisa90orhigher.ThisshowshowmucheffortIputintomyassignments,quizzes,and
tests.AllinallIshowedandputeffortintomywork.

ThispastyearIthinkImadesomuchprogress.Forinstance,Inevermissedany
assignmentsthatwereassignedtomeandIbroughtmyworkintime.LastyearIhad
troublefindingoutequationsandsolvingthem,butnowIhavetheskilltodoit.Thenew
tricksIlearnedtofindandsolveanequationhelpedmeunderstandthesystembywhichI
cansolvealgebraicequations.Forexamplefindingtheslopeandthenfindingthe
yintercepttofindtheequation.AnothertechniqueforsolvingequationswhichIcallthe
mountain,butourclasscallsdistributiveproperty.Forinstance3(2x+2)=24.When
multiplyingthemonomialwith2xandmultiplyingthemonomialwith2thatswhenyouwould
usedistributiveproperty.WithhavingthisimprovementtofigurethisalloutIknowImade
progressbecauseitisnolongerproblemformetounderstand.

InAlgebra1Igainedahabitofmind.ThehabitofmindisgritbecauseIlearned
frommyselfthatwhenIwantedtogiveupIdidn'tandfinishedwhatIstarted.Therewere
mathequationsthatwerechallengingandIwantedtogiveup.Forexample,learningthe
linearequationswasItimewhenIjustwantedtogiveup.ThereasonIwantedtogiveup
wasbecauseIwasabsentthedaybeforesoIjustgotaggravatedthatIdidn'tknowwhatto
dosoIjustthoughttojustgiveup.WhenthatranthroughmymindIthoughttomyselfwhere
isthatgoingtogetme?soIfinishedsomethingthatIdidn'twanttodoandgainedgrit.
ThisshowsIhavelearnedfrommyselfthatIcandoanythingthatischallengingwith
believingmyselfandtrying.AllinalllearningthisHabitofMindisgoingtobehelpfulinmy
future.

Nextyearinmathitwillgogreatforme.IsaythisbecauseIlovemathandwouldput
allofmydedicationtowardanythingthathastodowithmath.AlsoIamconfidentinmyself
indoingagreatjobnextyearbecauseIfeellikeIamreadywhat'scomingtomenextyear.
Forexample,allthetopicswelearnedthisyearissimilarwithgeometry.Withthatbeing
saidIknowIcanaccomplishanythingnextyearwithdedicationandbelievingmyself.
Finally,nextyearwillcomeandIwilldogreatinmathclassbecauseofthisyearbecauseI
skillsthatIlearnedthisyearhelpedmeunderstandtheworksomuchbetter.
