Report on Job Description: Food Server

We reviewed the job description for the position of food server in the Foodservice Department of
the Lambeth House Long Term Care facility. Then we observed and worked with a food server
in the 3
rd
floor dining room greeting, serving, and making sure the residents had everything they
needed.
Summary:
The job description does provide an adequate outline of what the position entails. It specifies the
specific duties entailed such as greeting residents, setting and cleaning tables, taking orders,
maintaining cleanliness of area and personal appearance. The description stressing the
importance of hospitality embodied by the Lambeth House mission and each of the staff
members. It outlines the hours expected to work, availability for holidays, and other events.
These are all important specifications for a potential employee to review before agreeing to
accept the position of a food server. Overall this is a very complete, realistic, and detailed job
