Work Plan

1. Goal: To find out the challenges in enjoying human rights of the sex workers.
2. Objective: Encouraging the sex workers right to life i.e. life with dignity.
3. Strategy: Interviewing the sex workers about the problems they are facing in their
profession and with the institutions working for encouraging their human rights and
about the problems they faced working with the sex workers which will help us to know
the way of working.
4. Activity:
i) Explore trends and patterns of discrimination and exclusion faced by sex workers
in Dhaka City (Interview FGD, participants 50).
ii) Review related laws, policy and judgment.
iii) Interview related human rights activists and experts.
iv) Examine societys perception about sex workers (About 20).
5. Resource: Various books, journals, reports in this topic and the research papers of
different institutions and ministry working in the matters of the sex workers.
6. Timeline: Activity i) March 10 March 25.
Activity ii) March 26 April 5.
Activity iii) April 6 April 20.
Activity iv) April 21 April 30.
7. Risk: Social attitude towards this subject can create difficulty working in this matter.
Access to the sex workers can sometimes be risky for us.
8. Implementation: Constitutional contradiction regarding this matter has to be sorted
out. If it is a moral or immoral profession is to be sorted out and the definitions of
morality and immorality should be specific and who will specify this and in which basis
are important questions. Laws regarding this matter should be created and implemented
to ensure the human rights of the sex workers.
