Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is for you to begin to address the graduation
requirements for your major and to address the entrance requirements for your chosen four-year
institution. Please address the questions below. Please type your responses.
1. What courses are you currently taking this semester?
I am enrolled in EDUC 290 and ENG 102 for summer semester.
2. What courses do you need to graduate with your AA degree? (Please see Lena Paxton to get a copy of
your Degree Audit, if you have problems. Lena is located in the Matrix in the Taylor Administration Building on
the CSI campus; you can also email her at lpaxton@csi.edu.) Otherwise, go to MyCSI under your grades
option.
Following this semester my AA degree will be completed.
3. Have you applied for CSI graduation? (https://www.csi.edu/forms/students_forms/gradapp/)
I have not applied for CSI graduation, but I am planning on applying once all of the requirements for
my degree are met following summer semester.
4. Have you completed CSIs Computer Literacy Assessment? (http://computerliteracy.csi.edu/)
I have not completed this assessment; however, I did fulfill the requirement through EDUC 215 with
Dr. Dave Makings.
5. What are the entrance requirements for your chosen four-year institution? What are the
application deadlines? If you plan to apply for scholarships, what are the scholarship
application deadlines? Have you applied for financial aid?
The entrance requirements for ISU are as follows:
1. Cumulative overall grade point average of 2.75, including transfer credits.
2. No grade lower than C (2.0) and two with Grades of B (3.0) or higher for the following
three subjects:
ENG 1101 or ENGL 1102
COMM 1101
MATH course used for fulfillment of Goal 3 as listed below:
Elementary Education/Early Childhood Education MATH 1108 or 1143 or 2256 or 2257.

Secondary Education MATH 1123 or 1127 or 1130 or 1153 or 1160 or 1170.
Special Education MATH 1123 or 1127 or 1130 or 1153 or 1160 or 1170.
3. Grade of C (2.0) or higher in EDUC 2215 or equivalent.
4. Grade of C (2.0) or higher in EDUC 2201.
5. A background check is required and is generally completed in EDUC 2201.
6. Successful completion of PRAXIS I examinations: Reading 172; Writing 174; Mathematics 169.
7. Video for interview using age group and subject of teaching major for interview.
8. Successful completion of the program admission interview.

The fall deadline is October 1.
I have not applied for any scholarships.
I am currently in the process of applying for financial aid.
6. Does your chosen four-year institution require Praxis 1 (or other tests)? What scores are needed?
What are the dates for Praxis 1 (or other tests)? Do these tests have to be completed before the
application deadline? If so, how long does it take to process test scores?

Yes, from the entrance requirement explanations, ISU does require the Praxis 1 to be taken and the applicant
must take and pass the applicable Principles of Learning and Teaching Praxis II test. The requirements ISU
has listed show these necessary scores: Reading 172; Writing 174; Mathematics 169.
