Instructions to accreditation authorities
In order for internationally qualified nurses and midwives to be considered for registration with the
Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (National Board), the National Board requires an
independent accreditation authority to provide the following evidence:
That the program of study which the applicant completed and led to registration as a registered
nurse, enrolled nurse or midwife was accredited at the time of study.
This evidence must be provided directly to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
(AHPRA), which processes applications for registration on behalf of the National Board.
Please use the attached letter template to provide the required information and return directly to
AHPRA at the address provided as per the following requirement:

Original letter on official letterhead (Note: copies will not suffice)
Signed by an authorised signatory of your accreditation body
Envelope to be sealed with official organisation seal (if applicable)

As applications cannot be processed until receipt of accreditation information, we request that you
provide the above letter at your earliest convenience.
