The Big Fish Who Wasnt So Big

Lester, Julius (Retold by). The big fish who wasnt so big.
This fable is intended to be presented to 6
th
-grade students of elementary
school (i.e. for students between the ages of eleven and thirteen years old without
taking into account any possible drawbacks such as over-aged students or
repeaters for whom there are some other books, activities and tasks that they will
have to develop). It is projected so in order to teach them the content expressed in
the D.C. for students of this educational level as well as to reach some of the aims
articulated in it, such as:

Estimular y fomentar la creatividad y la imaginacin de los nios a travs
de prcticas de enseanza que mantengan su inters y despierten su curiosidad.
Desarrollar prcticas del lenguaje centradas en la creacin e
interpretacin de significados atendiendo a las necesidades comunicativas de los
nios.
Generar un contexto de enseanza que permita a los nios construir y
operar con el conocimiento de la lengua extranjera.

among others.

This allegory contains the suitable context, linguistic and grammatical
exponents to teach the appropriate language through tasks and activities.
The students must know about grammar and structures as much as they
need to know about respect towards one another. This is why this story is perfectly
used as its moral is No matter how big we are, we need to learn how to live with
everyone.
The grammatical content expected to be teach from this fable is
comparative and superlative and the prior knowledge used is lexis about the
ocean, vocabulary and some other adjectives.
Among possible difficulties that might appear are included: lack of interest,
attention problems, and misunderstandings. All of these, and some other
unforeseen circumstances, will be tried to be solved by the teacher in the most
appropriate way according to which the problem is.
Some similar alternative pieces of writing to work with on some other
aspects are: Hey, Al and My dog and the green sock mystery.
