Two traveling angels stopped to spend the

night in the home of a

wealthy old man. The
man was rude and
refused to let the angels
stay in the mansions
guest room. Instead the
angels were given a space
in the cold basement. As
they made their bed on
the hard floor, the older
angel saw a hole in the
wall and repaired it.
When the younger angel
asked why, the older
angel replied, Things arent always what
they seem.
Due angeli in viaggio sostarono per la notte
nella casa di un uomo
benestante. Il uomo
fu scortese e si rifiut di far
accomodare gli angeli nella

coppia offr agli angeli il loro letto perch
potessero fare un buon riposo.

Quando il sole si lev la mattina successiva, gli
angeli trovarono il contadino e sua moglie in
lacrime. La loro unica mucca, il cui latte era
stato la loro unica fonte di guadagno, giaceva
morta nel campo.
The next night the pair came to rest at the
house of a very poor but very hospitable farmer
and his wife. After sharing what little food they
had, the couple let the angels sleep in their bed
where they could have a good nights rest.

When the sun came up the next morning, the
angels found the farmer and his wife in tears.
Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole
income, lay dead in the field.
Langelo giovane si infuri e chiese allangelo
anziano: Come hai potuto lasciare che
accadesse? Il primo uomo aveva tutto, eppure tu
lo hai aiutato. La seconda famiglia aveva poco
ma era generosa e tu hai
permesso che la loro
mucca morisse!

Le cose non sempre

della morte venuto per portare via sua moglie,
ma gli ho detto di prendere con s la mucca
invece."
The younger angel was infuriated and
asked the older angel, How could you
have let this happen? The first man had
everything, yet you helped him. The
second family had
little but was willing to
share everything, and
you let their cow die.

Things arent always

what they seem, the
older angel replied.
When we stayed in the
basement of the
mansion, I noticed there
was gold stored in that
hole in the wall. Since
the owner was so
obsessed with greed and unwilling to share
his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he
wouldnt find it. Then last night as we
slept in the farmers bed, the angel of
death came for his wife. I told him to take
the cow instead.
A volte reagiamo proprio come langelo
giovane di questa parabola. Ma Dio ha
promesso che tutte le cose cooperano al
bene per coloro che amano Dio. (Romani
8,28). Anche se forse ti sono successe tante
cose che al momento non ti sembravano
molto buone, prima o poi scoprirai, se non
lhai gi fatto, che in qualche modo erano
buone per te.
Sometimes we react just like the younger
angel in this parable. But we should
remember Gods promise that All things
do work together for good to those who love
God. (Romans 8:28) Although things may
have happened to you that didnt look very
good at the time, youll find out sooner or
later, if you havent already, that in some
way they were good for you.
