Venus and Earth are alike in many ways, but are also dissimilar in many more ways.

One way they

are similar is the fact that they both contain Carbon Dioxide (CO
2
) and Nitrogen (N
2
) (Both planets
original atmosphere composition was mainly carbon dioxide). Another way that they are similar is
that on both planets, the formation of the planets was originally formed from gases released inside
the planet (e.g. on Earth; volcanic activity). As the Earth cooled, the water vapour (H
2
O) condensed
to form the oceans. However, on Venus, it was too hot for water to condense. This is why on Earth
we have life. Trees and plants grew, and they photosynthesised to make their own food. The Oxygen
(O
2
) produced from absorbing the Carbon Dioxide, over time, changed the atmosphere composition
for there to be more Oxygen than Carbon Dioxide. This allowed simple life to form, starting off with
simple bacteria, and then over millions of years, humans. However, on Venus, the Carbon Dioxide
levels were never reduced and the oxygen was never increased due to no plants/tree
photosynthesising. It would be impossible to live on Venus for other reasons, too. Venus surface
temperature is 464C, whereas on Earth it is on average 15C. No life could form on Venus not only
because of the lack of water or Oxygen, but also, they would burn up instantly due to excess
temperatures.
