1. OVERVIEW
Florianopolis Intl is an airport located on the Southwest coast of the Island of
Florianopolis.
- Reference Airport Elevation - 16ft
- Reference Airport Temperature is 28.7^C
- Firefighting - CAT 9
2. AZUL COMMUNICATIONS
DESPACHO FLORIANOPOLIS is available on 130.900 mhz for operational calls. In range
call may be required in order to provide ETA and any special requests, and to obtain the
assigned gate or parking spot.
MANUTENCAO FLORIANOPOLIS is available on 130.900 mhz (portable radio) for any
maintenance demand.
Calls to CCO, DOV, MCC and ESCALA are available through ROIP on 130.900 mhz in
FLN.
3. THREATS
3.1 High Elevation terrain:
- Mountain Ranges extending from 8nm SW to NW of the airport
- Hills surrounding the airport ranging to 1,703ft (S) and 1,618ft (N)
3.2 Bird Hazard - sea birds and small birds fly around the airport area and standing over
the RWYs;
3.3 Strong cross-winds and turbulence can be found on approach to RWY 14 over the Bay in
some occasions;
* PM shall use the EGPWS Terrain mode below 10,000ft during all
approaches and departures from this airport when not in VMC.
