ELD
-
Nice to start the morning with a recap of the weekend activities. It acknowledges the
things they did and gets them warmed up for interacting in ELD.

-
Great job reinforcing the use of the past tense verbs and giving students positive
feedback about proper usage.

-
You effectively have students engage in oral language production throughout the
lesson. You use choral response and echo talk consistently.

-
You read with expression and provided support for comprehending the story using
multiple strategies such as pausing and allowing students to respond, explaining
unfamiliar words, sound effects, etc.

-
Students were engaged and active in the read aloud.

-
You give lots of clear directions for participating. Students were respectful and
followed your directions.

-
Nice to have students give descriptions of the characters before sharing your slides
with them. You gave them the opportunity to engage in the cognitive process of
analyzing characters before oral language practice.

-
You utilized a lot of techniques to ensure consistent and active oral language
production by all students. You provided feedback based on monitoring of their
understanding of the story and their correct usage of English.

-
Great job showing students how to form their mouths to make the sound of the /v/ in
the word clever

-
You had a clear sequence for the lesson. Your objective was apparent and evidenced
in all of the activities that you did and your monitoring of language production.

-
You used a lot of redirecting language and reinforcing language to monitor and direct
the class.

-
You recognized that the students needed to move so you had them stand up and do
the echo talk that way. Excellent idea being responsive to the needs of the students.
They certainly became more engaged.

-
You used great expression and acting to help portray the meaning of the words.

-
You introduced the singular versus plural of the verb to be in the past tense. They
struggled with the difference, but it was good to explain as hopefully the students are
learning the rules of English and can apply them outside if ELD.

-
The kids respond well to the different voices. It's an effective way to get them to
practice the oral language.

-
You pointed out the difference between male and female pronouns. That can be a
challenge for English learners so it's good to explicitly point out the difference and ask
students about it.

-
Mingle, mingle was a great activity! You listened in on their partner talk and had an
additional opportunity to assess.

-
You closed the lesson with a recap of what you taught and students practiced.
Excellent!

-
This was such a fantastic lesson! You were so well prepared and implemented the
lesson effortlessly! Students were actively participating which is a key component of
ELD.
