PROFESSIONAL STATEMENT: HOPES BEFORE PRACTICUM

This holiday is the last day for me to equip myself in undergoing practicum that
will be started next week from 30
th
of March until 24
th
of April 2014. This is the most
important time to prepare documents, files, and teaching aids that will be used during
practicum later on. The knowledge that I have acquired during my theories and
practise lectures while in IPDA will be used in undergoing this practicum. Since this
is the first time for me to undergone practicum, therefore, the feeling of nervous and
negative thoughts will appear in mind. But, I will use that to gather some experience
for me to face another phase of practicum at some other time.
Me and my partner, Wan Abdul Qayyim bin Wan Jaafar will undergo the first
phase of practicum at Sekolah Kebangsaan Haji Abu Bakar, Alor Setar. I am feeling
very excited because I have come to this school before for the schools camping as
coach. So, the understanding that has been occurred between us will smooth the
road for this phase of practicum. I hope that I can get to share ideas, informations,
and thoughts with them. I hope that the cooperation between us will continue and
can produce good result for myself.
My hope for the first phase of practicum is that I can collect as many
experience and useful information to become a good teacher later on. The
preparation of lesson plan, interesting activities, classroom management,
professional attitude and many more, those aspects I will learn really hard during this
phase of practicum. I hope to use the knowledge that I acquire during my lesson in
IPDA as maximum as possible to teach the pupils. This phase will help me to see
where my weaknesses in my teaching are and I will use it to improve for the next
phase of practicum later on. I also determined to know the pupils in my school better
so that there will be no gap between teacher and pupils. I also hope that the school
staff will give me cooperation and create good relationship between me and the
school staff. I will try my best to carry on my responsibility and create a comfortable
environment for all parties. I hope that everything that I have said can become
reality.
